What did you do over your Xmas vacation?

I'm just wondering what people did over the holidays!!
I'm up in San Francisco visiting my in-laws for the holidays!
Last night, we got part of our Xmas present, from my mother-in-law:
We were taken to a very nice dinner overlooking the SF Bay, and then to see the Broadway musical, Cats!!!
It was SOOOOOO awesome.


And now, my mother in law said that she wants to take us to Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in SF's Union Square - Postrio's. Dang, we are just living "high on the hog" for this holiday!!!!

Not that I'm complaining!!!

I'm still at work

I get X-Mas day off and will take that Friday, Monday, and Tuesday off. I am going to sit on my ass and do nothing. It's gonna be grrrrrreat.

Oh man, we went in to the city yesterday... walked ALL OVER San Fran.
We went to Union Square, where Mary's and many other stores are!!!
We finally ended up at Postrio's... FIVE STAR Restaurant!!!
I have NEVER been to a better restaurant. The service was superb...
Then, the food!!! OH MY GOD!! It was amazing!!! I will have to post something in the food forum about it, because it was decadent.

What a wonderful way to spend the holidays... going through a beautiful city.

We had our own Christmas miracle. My sister who never helps make tamales took pity on me and came over and helped. My sister's and I spent all day on the 23rd making them. Ron and I had the best time with our kids on Christmas. There is just nothing like the joy of a child.

The rest of the holiday, hmm hopefully watching my TT extended version DVD and drinking more coffee.

My family is in until the end of the week....Ive been hanging with them playing game after game....I love that....its soooo fun!

Having a New Years party (our yearly party).....kids are invited.....and everyone has a great time!

This years theme......Vegas night! (my poker face is ready!!!). Adults only....but the kids play their own games.....they have fun!

I got called out of town and had to head over to the Oregon Coast! Um, I forgot that I am getting married there this Friday! Man, do *I* have to remember everything?

For New Years, Heidi and I are talking about going to see Return of the King.
I normally fall asleep long before the midnight hour rings in.... but, I'm hoping to change that this year!

How long have you and your fiance been together?

Three months? Maybe longer?! I'm terrible with dates and I am an absent-
minded type of guy! Not much longer than that though! The funny thing is that I was with my ex-girlfriend for 5 years and never talked about marriage. Then I meet my current girlfriend/fiance and BOOM!

Sooner than later! She is about ten weeks into the pregnancy! I'm wishing for a boy! Thanks Chodder and KJ!

Oh wow.... getting married, AND she's already pregnant!!!
WOW... a little jr. tearuup! Awwwwwweeee....

And by the way...I proposed BEFORE we found out that she was pregnant! Otherwise I think I would have waited a while longer! A child freaks me out! Because if the child is anything like me....BBBRRRRRR....sends chills down my spine!!!

Congratulations Tearup. Wow. Marriage and a baby. You have about 7 weeks or so to go until you can find out the sex. Being a good parents requires love and a sense of humor. You will be great.

Love? Humor? What language is this? It's the moms job to name it and love it!
I'm just in it for the spankings! Foolin'! I've never been around children (except my X's son every now and then) so it will be a new experience! As will marriage!

TearUUp.... children are amazing. And just think.... you will get to be in charge of helping to shape this child. Your son, or daughter, will be an actual part of you.... in so many ways!!! I know that you will be a great daddy. Like I said... just be yourself, give of yourself, spend time with the child.

That I will! I make more than enough money so that she doesn't work, and that they can be very comfortable! And I can take off whenever I want, so, I'll make sure to spend lots of time with the both of them I guess!

Time is so important. I did not spend much time watching children until I had my own. They open up your heart in ways you never knew. You just have to roll with it and realize that time passes so quickly when they are small. If you believe that your kids are precious miracles, then you will do just fine. Remember to laugh. Kids do some really strange things.

My kid is going to learn to fight at a very young age! We were all taught that in my family and that makes my fiance a little nervous but I keep telling her it's just
for the learning sake! The child isn't in the same environment that I was brought up in so the situations won't arise that happened with me!

I think that having your child learn a martial arts disipline is a great idea.
It teaches them how to defend themself, but it teaches them patience as well... and so much more!
As long as you teach them that it's not to be used to be a bully, there's nothing wrong with it.

I was a bully! That I am not proud of! But, that was because of the people I was around! So, I am going to make sure that my child is strong but not corrupt! That's my goal!

Hey, I think that we are going to the doctor tomarrow because the doc says that he thinks that he'll be able to pick up the heartbeat! And, he tells me that he might be able to tell from the heart patterns what gender the child might be?
That'd be cool!

The appointment got moved to today! Yay! So I'll be bailing out in a couple of hours to go to the doc! That would be cool to know what the childs gender is going to be before the new year hits!

Tearuup are you going to find out the sex of the baby? We are waiting for you to tell us. So you want a boy. Well, let me tell you that little girls are the light of their father's lives. They are wonderful. I have a boy and a girl.

Okay guys...it's a dud...we heard the heartbeat and all...so THAT WAS pretty exciting...but...dammit...no other news! Arrgggghhh! I wanna know! Now Mystic has me all bummed out because she was excited too! I mean.. I am hella glad that it is healthy...but what is it? I am determined to find out NOW!

It's gotta be a boy Fuscia! If it's a girl...I would be way too protective! Haven't ya'll ever heard that joke...
What's the difference between having a girl and a boy?

I just got back from vacation... and I am proud to say that I did nothing. I sat at home since last Thursday and barely left the house. I watched TV and drank. It was everything I hoped it would be. Ok, I went to a few parties and movies, but you get the point.

That's not bad news, TearUUp. When it's time, you will know the sex of your unborn child.
Just think... during this time, you and your soon-to-be wife can talk about names for a boy or girl.
You can talk about the different dreams and goals that you would have, depending on the sex of the child.

Use this time to be happy, excited, etc... it's a time to know that you've created a miracle.

We already have the name picked out! Now I WANNA KNOW what to start calling it! And I hate calling it an "IT"...it sounds inhumane!

How about for the time being you refer to the child as, my son or daughter. Or, my child?

I know that you want to know. Something that MANY parents go through while waiting for that time of gaining knowledge of a son or daughter.

Patience, my friend. A little patience will get you a long way. And, I know that it's hard for this... but you can do it.

7 or 8 weeks to go and it will go quickly. I think knowing the baby's sex is a good thing. Instead of a stranger in there, you have Damon on Nikki-my kids names. I loved being able to say their names before they were born. Damon, in the OR locked eyes with mine when I said his name. It was such a wonderful moment. Tearuup, my husband is so protective of our little girl, but he would not change having a girl for anything. Nikki is his little princess and has a very special place in his heart. If you have a little girl, she will be the same for you.

I didn't really do much over the Christmas holidays. I went to the theater with the parental units and saw "Return of the King", did a little Christmas shopping. My parents, both of my sister-in-laws and the baby all got colds. And I didn't get to go see my grandparents this year

Okay...over the New Year I finally did it! I remembered and actually showed up to my wedding! *bows*.

I'm impressed with myself that I actually remembered to go! No joke! I am terrible with times and dates! To tell the truth, my best friend came by to pick me up and reminded me...but from there on...it was all me...

That was cold! Nope...I have my life...nothing changed...except for this rather large piece of jewelry around my ankle that seems to be leading back to the house...wait...this is all wrong!!!???!??!??
