Spokespersons Kevin McLin, left, and Stuart Buckeman, answer quations during a news conference outside Michael Jackson's 'Neverland' ranch, Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in Sata Barbara, Calif.

Helicopters flying above Neverland all day and night. The media was all over Jacko for throwing a Christmas party disguised as a pep-rally which no one wants to admit, except the media shun him for celebrating the nine felony charges for which Mad-dog Sneddon toss those criminal charges just days before Christmas this week. The Santa Barbara DA has been waiting 10 years and timed it on Christmas 2003. Now the press is all over Jacko for holding his usual Christmas party for his friends and family members. So what's the big deal? ^^^ Just Click Above

Sun Dec 21, 2003 -Family, Friends Support Jackson at Ranch - By JEREMIAH MARQUEZ, Associated Press Writer

LOS OLIVOS, Calif. - Friends and relatives of Michael Jackson descended on his Neverland Ranch on Saturday to show their support for the entertainer who is fighting child molestation charges. The private gathering behind the gates of the sprawling estate was described as a homecoming for Jackson, who has kept a low profile in Las Vegas and undisclosed locations since surrendering to authorities on Nov. 20 and being released on $3 million bail. "This event is to show Michael that he has the love and support of his friends and family," Jackson's spokesman Stuart Backerman told reporters outside the estate.

The gathering — titled "You Are Not Alone" after a Jackson song — drew about 600 people, including celebrities such as tennis star Serena Williams, rapper MC Hammer, comedian Eddie Griffin and "American Idol" host and DJ Ryan Seacrest. More than 450 cars entered the main gate of the estate. Fans ran up to a black Mercedes that carried two people who appeared to be Jackson's parents. About 20 reporters staked out the gate, along with a dozen fans. One sign pasted on a car read, "Michael is innocent!! Leave him alone!!" Guests characterized the mood inside as upbeat.

Musician Edwin Birdsong said Jackson was subdued as various supporters honored him. "He just said "Hi," and smiled," Birdsong told reporters as he left Neverland. "It was very festive and happy." A gospel choir led by Andrae Crouch performed, Birdsong said. Other celebrities included actor Robert Townsend and former baseball star Darryl Strawberry , he said.

Actor David McKnight said friends, family and children whom Jackson has helped over the years took turns giving tributes. He said there was "a lot of food, a lot of eating, and a lot of celebration, camaraderie, holding hands, cheering and praising Michael Jackson." Guest Katherine Rogers said Jermaine Jackson performed a song at the gathering and actor Tommy Davidson (news) served as master of ceremonies. She said Michael Jackson looked "relaxed."

Asked by reporters how Jackson was faring, Backerman said, "He's doing fantastic. He's doing well. He's holding up fine. He's clearly fighting mad regarding the allegations." Backerman declined to answer further questions about Jackson' s legal troubles. As cars began leaving, passengers in one vehicle threw T-shirts reading "I support Michael Jackson" to fans waiting outside...Jackson was looking forward to thanking people who have stood by him, said Brian Oxman, a lawyer and Jackson friend who planned to attend Saturday's gathering.

"It's for family and friends to say thank you from Michael to people he loves and who have supported him," Oxman said. "It's not a party. It's not a pep rally. It's not hoopla or celebration."

Michael Jackson is a lover, not a fighter, so as his attorneys traded jabs with prosecutors on December 19 over charges that he molested a young boy, the self-declared 'King of Pop' prepared for a party in his honor. Jackson, who was charged on Thursday with nine counts of child molestation, was expected to attend the get-together scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the ranch his spokesman said. This is the same guy that has to film a show about his alleged mistreatment....so that he can collect money for his legal funds?

The same guy throwing a party and funding it no doubt...for his friends? I wonder who paid for this "pep rally," "party" or whatever they want to call it?

It makes me want to laugh out loud.....Oh, and my goodness, it did.

That was pretty funny....got a good laughter out of it. You think that Jacko moves at the speed of light in finishing molesting 500 in say three hours? Perhaps by imagination only. LOL

What is really funning is a person is suppose to be innocent until proven guilty.

Now it is a person is guilty until proven innocent, but then you are still guilty in the court of public opinion.

The man has a right to have a party, pep ralley, or whatever, it is the stupid press that needs to get a life. So now the people who love this man and trust this man is weirdo and creeps too?

Leave the man alone. After he is found guilty, then Mr. Jackson is fair game.

I find it so very interesting that people want to paint Mr. Jackson guilty when any of us could be accused of this terrible crime and the accusation along would destroy our lives.

My motto is treat others the way you want to be treated.

Just my opinion.

You know....to a point I agree with you......but celebrities are different......

Why? Because people treat them that way....they get more advantages that normal people do not.....so they are fair game...realistically.

How many times do actors get something that a normal person wouldnt? Too many. If you are gonna be in a position to be revered, you have to know that there will be times you will be hated and picked on also......and MJ leaves that door open for himself....

I would like to treat people the way I want to be treated.....but Is it realistic? Maybe....but I would like others to treat me the way they would treat a celebrity.....but what are the odds that will happen? Isnt it fair that if we want to treat people the same that we would be treated that ALL people would be treated fairly and one would not have an advantage over another?

I see your point indeed....but when people choose fame, they choose the limelight, and they know this is what comes with that territory.....

The filming is important because NO one would believe any verbal complaints against the cops. Even a video-tape isn't good enough for Rodney King the first few times around. Filming is a MUST, and then PRO- law enforcement folks still demand more than a thousand words in addition to any filming of mistreatment. That's the taxpayer's money at work, at trial and at paying off the judgement damages and legal fees.

His lawyers and accountants put Jacko on a slim spending diet.....like $$$$$ ONE MILLION buckeroos $$$$ per month. So he dumped a truck load of cash before year end and called it entertainment....some called it a pep rally, but looks more like a Xmas party. You're not jealous, are you? LOL

Jealous? Hardly! LOL!

I dont find it hard to believe people think cops are corrupt.....even cops thought what happened to Rodney King was corrupt! So I disagree....many people firmly believe when people say that cops do bad things...

And even though Rodney King was eventually compensated....the things that happened to Denny went unnoticed also....lets not forget that. The cops didnt do it but it seemed to me he paid for what the cops did with absolutely NO compensation to the people that harmed him. Shame shame!

I simply dont buy MJ's claims.....

Ha.....so you take the words of the cops in denying versus the photo of MJ's physical injury. Of course, what you say is so transparent in defending the cops. So tell me Mystic, who polices the police for official misconduct? Some bogus internal investigation which the public suspects as you said "hard to believe people think cops are corrupt?"

What happened to Reginald Denny was a shameful act of mob mentality at the intersection blaming on the White people. But we all should learn from that lesson that unless there is some sense of equal justice, law and order will not be respected by those who feel aggrieved. And I sensed that the recent news and pre-trial publicity of MJ and Kobe doesn't help heal this country. Many out there publicly arouse the raw emotions, turning our LEOs and good citizens into callous puppets. Then we become surprised by a waive of Denny-type backlashes. Perhaps, we all should look at what we sow.

So Michael Jackson is now being seen with little girls! Why did he have such a large Christmas party if he was in all this pain that he is now talking about?

I thought I answered that "why" question in another post already, but here goes again:

Top Five reasons for party even injured, sick and tired:

1. MJ is a big time spender, not some cheap skate.
2. MJ normally holds a Xmas party each year.
3. MJ doesn't have to do any chores when sponsoring own party.
4. MJ wants to thank his loyal fans, family and friends - no foes invited.
5. MJ wants those opposing him to eat their heart out. LOL

Yes...I take there words over MJ's in this case. I remember quite well the videotape of the Rodney King beating....we also had to review it in a few policing courses I took to show that it was wrong. I dont deny this happens at times....Id be blind and an idiot if I said it didnt, but I do NOT believe it happened to MJ....many reasons to think that. Ive already stated them on another thread, so I wont bother to restate it....you already know it!

Of course, what you say is so transparent in defending the cops.

How so? It was pretty evident to me that it didnt happen the way he said....but AGAIN...Ive already stated the reasons...it just was hardly possible.

So tell me Mystic, who polices the police for official misconduct? Some bogus internal investigation which the public suspects as you said "hard to believe people think cops are corrupt?"

Some bogus internal investigation? Are you kidding? Look Ken, there are bad cops everywhere....but a few bad ones dont make the whole department bad...and they are watched....and I will stand behind the good ones....Im not going to talk down about the department I worked for or the many many cops I know...I consider myself a very fair person...if they do bad, I have no problem saying it....but if I dont see it...Im gonna stand behind them. The shameful thing is that you dont....you think they are all bad, and that says many things about you.

What happened to Reginald Denny was a shameful act of mob mentality at the intersection blaming on the White people. But we all should learn from that lesson that unless there is some sense of equal justice, law and order will not be respected by those who feel aggrieved.

That is certainly taking the easy way out. Two wrongs dont make a right......he was compensated highly....but as RK sits in jail today (unless he is out again)...I see he didnt learn his lesson on disobeying the laws of this country. So...the cops did a bad thing and many of the African Americans and people in that part of town started looting and stealing from their own part of town...and when some beat RD it was okay because they didnt feel the need to respect the law because of a handful of bad cops? Oh...okay.

Did I misunderstand your point?

Nope, you made yourself very clear. And you read me correctly that I wouldn't trust corrupt cops. I just hope someday that a better oversight system gets in place to weed out bad behavior. It's like a gorilla that no one can contain, but hope that it goes away or sleep in the corner. OTOH, we see beatings taking place constantly.

The beauty is that even video-cameras hasn't erased the human flaws among that occupation. Let me shift the issue a bit, do you see domestic brutality for a cop beating up own spouse physically an equal offense as that of another average citizen yet?

But not ALL cops are corrupt.....you are lumping them all together, and that shouldnt be. Of course no one should trust corrupt cops....but the majority are not corrupt. What you see is a small minority.

I just hope someday that a better oversight system gets in place to weed out bad behavior.

It is starting to happen....dont think the few things you see is not being taken care of as a whole.

It's like a gorilla that no one can contain, but hope that it goes away or sleep in the corner. OTOH, we see beatings taking place constantly.

Constantly? I dont see things constantly....and like I said, what you do see....is a minority....think about it as a whole...there are SO many police departments and the very few you see doesnt suggest they all do it. Im sorry...but who is falling for media bias now?

The beauty is that even video-cameras hasn't erased the human flaws among that occupation. Let me shift the issue a bit, do you see domestic brutality for a cop beating up own spouse physically an equal offense as that of another average citizen yet?

Well this is certainly not a thread for police domestic abuse...but as for your question.....domestic abuse is domestic abuse...I dont care who does it.....so I dont justify it because they are cops....I havent seen any cops that would justify that...at least the ones I know....I dont see the point in this question however. I do know that when he police are called to a home for a domestic disturbance, that there is a high rate of them being killed in these situations, in case you were not aware of that......

You know.....I see more people talking about the problems that cops cause, I have yet to see anyone talk about the cops that are killed on a yearly basis by the scum they are trying to get off the streets. How sad that these good cops along with all the other good cops go without recognition.
