i was talking to somone yesterday about the books and he said Peter Jackson is going to make The Hobbit into a movie and also he has plans of doing King Kong. are these true?

I have heard the same thing. They aren't rumors. King Kong is already in preproduction, but Hobbit is still in talks. Yhey would like to have some of the same actors come back to play the characters. There is a rumor that they will do Sillilarion*spelling?* too, but this is JUST A RUMOR.

Peter Jackson might do it differently. He's a great director.

Several of the LOTR cast would do fine there, too.

I'll go see the Hobbit. I didn't like the book as much as I liked LOTR but it was good.

I would bet my bank account that he is not doing the hobbit... yet. It would take jackson a while to even write the screenplay, it took him a couple years to do LOTR, and that was with alot of help. The Hobbit should wait a few years at least, if he released it soon what a mistake that would be.

right now he is working on King Kong. so if he does start working on The Hobbit, there is no way it will be out in 2004. maybe late 04' but i doubt it. like what Snunka said, he has to write the screenplay and etc. A good idea would be The Lord of The Rings: Revisisted. it should include all the information giving out in the back of The Return of The King.

I don't think they should go overboard on the movies. Lord of the Rings kicks butt, but there can be too much of a good thing. Look at My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Excellent movie. But then they went overboard and made it a tv show.. Bad idea. Too much of a good thing.

Any book store will sell it. Or Amazon.com. I bought mine at Amazon.com it came in a 4 book paperback set, Hobbit, Fellowship, Towers, and King

or just borrow it from a friend. thats what i did. but i would like to have my own copy

Or find a library near you. I borrowed them from my University's main library.
