Sony is working on what is to known as the PSP: Plastation Portable. Think of it as a mini, hand-held PS2. Even though this is an early design it should look like this:
-a sleek rectangular design
-analog disk
-the usual buttons
-back pops open for the UMD (Universal Media Disk): about 1/2 the size of a standard disk
-a 4.5-inch, widescreen TFT capable of 3D graphics
-a memory stick slot for network applications
-USB 2 port for expandability
The PSP will support MPEG4 for DVD-quality video at low data rates.
The UMD, a 60mm opticle disk wich comes with a cartridge, will offer up to 1.8GB of storage per disk.
The PSP isn't schedualed to ship until late 2004.
