A word to the wise, while there are a lot of great deals to be had out there, many of them are too good to be true. You don't want to turn up empty handed in a month with nothing to show but an empty bank account. It's good to feel comfortable in the outfit you're buying from before dishing out your money:
- Are they a member of the BBB? Not Sure? Look it up (along with any complaints that may already be filed against them): http://search.bbb.org/search.html
- Do a search on Google for the name of the company or the site. This can sometimes turn up previous customer commentary (particularly if you refine your search).
- Check out their ranking. The higher their ranking on the web, the more likely they're actually doing a lot of business (assuming those that do bad business doesn't stick around that long): Ranking.com
- Find company reports from customers who did business with a particular company:
ePublic Eye
Safe Shopping Network
- Finally: Shop Safely Online
If anyone has anything to add in the neighborhood of PRODUCT REVIEWS or COUPON sites - that would be a great addition to this thread. | |
