Israelis Monopolize Scam Shops in Key West
Posted on: 2003-11-17 14:35:37

by M. P. Shiel

Many thousands of tourists, most of them well-heeled, disembark daily from cruise ships in Key West, Florida. And waiting to take their money in clever cons are dozens of scam shops run by -- not Americans, not Latinos, not Blacks, not even homosexuals -- but Israeli Jews who have discovered a money spigot that they don't want turned off. The scam centers around one of the most popular (and, one would think, least expensive) purchases a visitor might make: souvenir T-shirts. Here's how it works.

The shops display hundreds of shirts with pictures and slogans ranging from the pretty to the provocative to the downright crude. The prices seem reasonable. But once the marks have ordered some shirts, the proprietor cajoles them into putting "just a little iron-on decal" on the shirt -- or in many cases, the victims aren't even asked and are told later that the reasonable price they thought they were going to pay was for a plain white shirt and the image is a 'decal' for which they have to pay separately. And pay they do, sometimes as much as $100 or $200 per shirt, often charged to the tourists' credit cards before they know what has happened.

Even the slavishly pro-Jewish Miami Herald admits that a large number of the scam shop owners are Israelis. The shop owners, described by the Herald as a "tight-knit and closed-mouthed crew," even hired a rabbi to negotiate with city fathers who were trying without much success to regulate their unethical practices:

"Still, the perception has spawned xenophobia: many of the city's T-shirt shops are owned and staffed by Israelis, and city officials and religious leaders say the negative image of T-shirt shops has damaged perceptions of the city's Israeli community at large. Several concerned shop owners recently approached a rabbi, who helped arranged mediation talks with the city."

The rabbi wouldn't even let his name be used, though, so bad is the reputation of his employers -- he "asked that his name not appear in print. While most T-shirt shop owners were honest businessmen, he said, a few were still crooks, and he did not want to be linked with them."

The city passed an ordinance requiring that estimates be given before any 'custom work' is performed. Then they passed an ordinance requiring that a notice of the law be posted where it is 'easily readable' in each shop. Ever seeking out loopholes, some shop owners posted the notice where it was easily readable, all right -- but only to the clerk behind the counter.

According to the Keys News, 37 out of the 40 shops they checked were in violation of the rule.

The Kol Nidre
By J B Campbell

The Kol Nidre is the holiest Jewish prayer and is recited several times on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. It means "all vows" and is a flat statement that no promise of any kind will be kept for the coming year. It is also sung by the cantor in synagogue, accompanied on the violin and goes like this:

"All vows, obligations, oaths or anathemas, pledges of all names, which we have vowed, sworn, devoted, or bound ourselves to, from this day of atonement, until the next day of atonement (whose arrival we hope for in happiness) we repent, aforehand, of them all, they shall all be deemed absolved, forgiven, annulled, void and made of no effect; they shall not be binding, nor have any power; the vows shall not be reckoned as vows, the obligations shall not be obligatory, nor the oaths considered as oaths."

"The Jazz Singer," the first talkie with Al Jolsen, describes the great devotion that Jews have for this "prayer." Jolsen plays a cantor's son who tries to break away from Jewish tradition but who in the end is drawn back to it, finally agreeing to sing the Kol Nidre on the great day. It is ironic that Hollywood's first motion picture with sound should have dealt with this explosive subject, even if the words were sung in Hebrew.

Can any person or people with this mentality be trusted? The Kol Nidre mentality is the underlying cause for all the anti-Jewish reaction by normal people down through the ages. Have we ever heard a renunciation of this "prayer" by any Jew - orthodox, reform or otherwise? In fact, how many of us are even aware of this subversive practice, this license to lie, which is glorified in a holy ritual every year?

Every Jew in a position of power, from Paul Wolfowitz to your judge, doctor or teacher, should be questioned on this subject. Jewish judges should be asked to recuse themselves on this grounds automatically. Only in this positive but defensive manner can we at this late date begin to take charge of our lives by denouncing the lie of "anti-Semitism" and confronting those whose practices are based on deception.

Remember the motto of Israel's elite organization, the Mossad: "By way of deception thou shalt make war."

This is a total lie.

The Kol Nidre only absolves Jews to those oaths which an individual assumes for himself alone where no other persons or their interests are involved. It certainly does not mean that Jews don't have to tell the truth or keep their word.

This is the same kind of lies that Jew haters use when discussing the Talmud. This is the type of antisemtic lies that Jews have had to deal with for 2,000 years. Notice the last sentence about Israel. This is what this whole thing was really about Israel. This is a perfect example of antizionism being a front for antisemitism.
