I am writing a horror novel and i was wondering if anyone could suggest any thing to me.it is set in London ( i can't think of the time) and it is about a man named Olin who finds out that his closest freind is a Vampire (yes, its supposed to be capitalized) after he saves this woman (Elizabeth) from one.

i've already started writing the book (i'm writing chapter 3) but i just want a few suggestions.you don't have to but i would appreciate it. thanks

I haven't written any books but I have had poetry published in the U.S and now over in Europe. I could try to help you out some if you would like. I'm not sure about how much help I would be to you though...

You'll need a child or very young woman. This represent purity.

Say! That gives me an idea! the purity the purity of a little girl (Elizabeth's neice) can be the key to end the Vampire's pain and suffering (the Vampires are Satan's slaves) thanks!

And you need someone that is lured into the Vampires lifestyle. Sort of like a poser.

And a gothic type Church needs to be the setting for something. Gothic churches are scary.

That may be going too far. Isn't this a book about Vampires?

Your character, Elizabeth, could always find out later, like maybe closer to the end, that she's a descendant of Elizabeth Bathory. Elizabeth Bathory was also known as the "Bloody Countess" for her multiple murders and obsession with blood. I can give you a little more information on her if you would like for me to.

I think I figured out the time setting. It's somewhere in the 1700s

Elizabeth Bathory- Hungarian noblewoman (1560-1614) and member of the powerful Bathory family who became known as the "Bloody Countess" for her multiple murders and obsession with blood. Married to the warrior count Ferenz Nadasdy, Bathory spent many nights alone while her husband was fighting the Turks. She developed obsessive interests in her own beauty, in pleasure, in the occult, and in the most depraved kinds of sadism, which were normally manifested toward her serving girls, with whom she engaged in orgies before murdering them with the help of her lieutenants. Bathory became convinced that blood was a useful cosmetic and restorative when she hit a victim so hard that her blood splashed onto the countess's face and arms; when she washed off the blood she believed that her skin felt smoother and younger. Henceforth she drank, bathed, and showered in the blood of maidens, murdering hundreds of young girls who were brought into her service.

Exact figures on the number of her victims vary, but some accounts put the number at 610, others as few as 50. Inevitably, however, the truth became known, and in 1610 the countess and her henchmen were arrested, tried, and convicted. Her accomplices were executed or imprisoned, and Bathory was walled up in her bedroom at Castle Csejthe. Four years later the guards who attended her looked through the tiny slot used to provide her with food and discovered that she was dead. The "living vampire" was no more although her memory was kept alive by legends and tales.

**I hope this helps. If not, at least it's interesting. **

Not at the moment, no. But If I can think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Where did I get what? The Vampire Encyclopedia? It was given to me as a Christmas present.

There are 2 vampire encyclopedias (by different authors) listed on this ebay search:

Horror stories are not my thing, so no suggestions except general ones. Read extensively in your genre of choice, and also combine what you know with exhaustive research.

I have the one that's listed under Religion, Spirituality, Occult. It seems that the other one is mostly about films. I could be wrong though.

Have Olin search rare books looking for a way to cure his friend. He comes upon spells that he think might work, but the spell takes him to an unimaginable pain filled place. He goes through many stages of Hell himself until he reaches an unholy being who can help his friend. But Olin has to convince this being to help.I'll leave the rest to your own imagination. Hope this helps..........Becker
