What is the best concert you've ever attended?

I was just sitting here, at work, listening to Reba McEntire, and thinking about how much I loved seeing her perform live about 10 years ago... and that I've never seen a better concert. So, that got me thinking about best concerts that we've attended. Who was the best person/band you've ever seen perform live? And, why were they the best?





I absolutely loved seeing Reba in concert. She is so in to her concerts, giving 200% to every single person that has spent money to see her. She loves her fans, and gives such a complete show.

There are other concerts that I've seen that I've really loved, but they just can't touch Reba, in my eyes!!

Since I have only been to 3 concerts, I would have to say the B52's. They were so much fun.

I've only went to two concerts-_-' First one was I went to see Kid Rock on my birthday about two years ago. And then this Halloween I went and saw Lynyrd Skynyrd. Have to say Skynyrd out did Kid Rock XD Plus, it was Halloween too and it was cool.

I saw Van Halen in 1986, that was an awesome experience.

Eddie Wan Halen was still in his prime, and it was loud and fast.

Now THAT would have been one hell of a show!!!!

I saw Def Leppard in the 80's and that was such an amazing show.
I was in the first few rows... and I just watched Steve Clark the entire time. One of the "terror twins" on his Axe!!!

Boyz II Men in 1997. Pretty simple show, but they went for hours... (like almost 3, I think)

I was a Van Halen freak. That guitar was so pure and so tight.

As a matter of fact, I might get offline and go listen to some 1984 and 5150 .

I also was into Def Leppard, but never got to see them in concert.

I did get to see Reba. She had just gotten over a cold and she said her voice was not 100%. But she could have fooled me. She was hitting the high notes with perfection.

Got to see George Straight, Ricky Van Shelton, The Scorpions.

But Van Halen was the bomb.

Yeah... Van Halen put on a hell of a show in the 80's. David Lee Roth in his prime! ANIMALISTIC!

I've seen Def Leppard, Chicago, Reba, Tim McGraw, Michael Montgomery, Amy Grant (more times than I can count), Dakota Motor Co (no longer together), Tina Turner (she was AMAZING), and some others.

I have two fav's:

Coachella Fest 2002- main event was The Beastie Boys, also saw The Hives, Ben Harper, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Blur. Oh, and I had a hook up and scored V.I.P. passes. Was drinking around Tommy Lee, and also saw Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz, some MTV jerks too.

Aerosmith & Kid Rock @ Coors Amphitheatre in Cula Vista, 2002- I had free tickets, but they were lawn seats. A buddy of mine saw the Phoenix show and let me in on a secret... that Aerosmith comes to the 'B' stage on the lawn in the middle of the show and plays a set. I was by the B stage the whole concert and Aerosmith did come up (I was nearly trampled by everyone). I was about eight feet away from Steven Tyler and Joe Perry belting out 'Sweet Emotion'. My ears were ringing, but it was awesome.

The best consert Ive been to is a tie. A San Diego band called ''Fishbone'', or maybe an english reggae band called ''Steel Pulse''.

Honerable mention- Oingo Boingo, seen them many times.
Ted Nugent , one of the first cancerts I went to , the guy is a madman.

I've never been to a tiger army concert ( they were in this venue right by my house on 12/17.... i didn't go ) but, if i ever did go to there concert, i know it would rock!!! Geoff would definatley set fire on stage! He's SOOOO awsome!

311 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN in August 2003.

The opening bands were "Something Corporate" and "O.A.R.". The first band was pretty decent. Some people knew the words to their songs. Whe nthe second band came up the people got a bit more excited, but the energy died quickly since they were kind of boring and didn't keep the energy going from the first band.

Then the air charged like electricity. I felt it. I'm serious.

311 strutted on stage, the lead singer being 6'3" in a muscle shirt. They opened the set with a song called "Freak out" -- a MAJOR contrast to the entire evening leading up to it. They nailed that song with perfection.

23 songs later they walked off the stage. They just played a great mix of old, new, and rare. Hard core, fast, mellow, trippy, melodic, and other. The fans wanted more, badly. They were so stimulated after 23 songs, they refused to let 311 leave with playing an enchor.

311 of course walked back out after a couple of minutes, tossed some water into the crowd, and picked up their instruments. They didn't say a word, they just started playing again.

Theyp layed 2 songs for the enchor, executed with perfection. The croud was amazed. I will NEVER forget that night. I doubt I will ever see another show in my life half as good, ever.

I've only been to three concerts. But I would have to say that the best one I've ever been to had to have been two out of the three. Savage Garden for one. That was an absolute killer concert and the last one was a 95 Rock concert. It started at abut 10:00 in the morning and wasn't over until about 4:00 in the after noon. I went with my brother and his now wife and a friend of his. We didn't stay for the whole thing though. We left some time around 12:00pm because my brother ended up drinking too much beer and not enough water and he ended up getting sick. It also didn't help that it was like 106 degrees that day.

I did get to see Dry Cell, which is a really great band. Mad At Gravity, Audio Vent, Gemini, who kicked some major @$$. Some of the bands that were there that I didn't get to see (sadly enough) were Seven Dust, who I heard was, by far, the loudest band there, Mushroom Head and there were a bunch of others that were also there. I just can't remember who they were though. This concert was about two or three years ago. Probably three years ago this July. I had a lot of fun.

After I got home, I felt like the sun had literally crashed down upon me because I was so sunburned and so sore. The tan lines that I had gotten that day, just completely faded some time this last year. I still wish I had gotten to see Seven Dust though.

Pulse- I saw Savage Garden perform a set live at the Blockbuster in '97. Wasn't bad at all.

Mad At Gravity kicks ass, I'd like to see them live.

Mad At Gravity kicks major ass live And Savage Garden is one of my favorites. I like to listen to them when I'm depressed or when I don't really want to hear anything really 'loud'. They're "soft" mood music

Which concert to chose from? My husband is a recording engineer/producer so I have been to a ton of concerts. Most of the recent ones have been local bands, but the best was going backstage with Starship! Very cool!

Anyhow, my favorite band growing up was Def Leppard as well, KJ, (I had close to 40 pictures/posters of them on my wall...mainly of Joe Elliot) and I got to see them in concert when I was in college! I will never forget that!

The BEST I have seen in a long time is Tonic! They are absolutely fabulous! I could se them again, and again...

Tomorrow night I am actually going to the UNC basketball game and Clay Aiken will be there, and then I will be going to the George Strait comcert coming up as well.

What can I say...I love music!

I've also seen Genesis, Anne Murray, Oak Ridge Boys, George Strait, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, Pearl Jam, Metallica, many, many bands at Livestock and several other shows like that in Florida...I really can't remember what all right now.

I've seen Rammstein in Berlin, Bruce Springsteen in Helsinki and many Finnish artists in Helsinki. Rammstein in Berlin is absolutely the best!!

I usually say the last concert I saw was the best one. But lemme tell ya, the David Bowie show I saw last night (Friday 1/9/04) in Detroit was right up there with Elvis Costello last year and Sheryl Crow in 1997.
For a long time the best concert I'd ever seen was the Who, James Taylor and the James Gang (w/Joe Walsh) in Cleveland in 1970, when I was in high school. Today, about all of it that I remember is a bunch of girls next to me chanting "Sit down! Sit down!" at the people in front of them. Hey, girls, it was the main floor ... deal with it ...

I would have to say Blues Traveler last summer in Atlanta was the best concert I've ever been to. It was outdoors, and it rained for the first 3 bands, but when Blues Traveler came on, the clouds parted, there was a full moon and it turned out to be a real pretty night, even John Popper commented on it. Anyway we had a great time!

Wow, I am sure you're all gonna rip on this one based on who you've all seen... but the best concert I ever saw was Barry Manilow. I know, I know...but he puts on one hell of a show. I've seen him twice and has been phenomenal both times.

I also just saw Bette Midler and her show was spectacular but I think I was anticipating a life-changing experience (based on what I've heard about her shows and how amazing they are) so it wasn't as good as I was hoping.

Also saw Billy Joel by himself and a second time with Elton John, and that's probably my second place pick.

This summer I saw the American Idols Live tour 6 times in 6 different cities (I'm a bit obsessed with Clay Aiken, hence my name here) and I have to say I was very surprised at how good the shows were!!

I've also seen a lot of Contemp Christian shows (Amy Grant, Steve Camp, Michael Card, Stryper, etc) and those were always pretty good.

Guess I'm pretty easy to please.......

A coworker of mine was recording a live album for Tom Jones in Japan, and he always has a habit of pulling a hankerchief (or rather a small towel) out of his pocket, wiping his sweat and throwing it into the crowd... okay, so he goes to Japan, and he does this... however, in Japan, if someone throws a towel, it's bad luck to be the one to pick it up... and this is a pretty strong superstition they have... so he does this... and all these girls go RUNNING from this towel... so Tom Jones thinks, okay, maybe they misunderstood what it was, opens his jacket and pulls out another towel, does it again... they all go running again...

Man was he ticked but the funny thing was he apparently did around 5 concerts in Japan, and the whole time he did this thing with that reaction... no one had the guts to tell him he couldn't do it.

You would think that he might have eventually figured that out.

Best concert i ever went to wuz P.O.D! those guyz rock in person ^___^ w00t! i woulda said LP but...my tickets got cancelled. >_<;; grrr...so i never saw them. until that faithful day it remains P.O.D.

Well I don't know half of the people yall saw,but im still young. So I would say the the best concert I saw was Ginuwine

I wish I was in new orleans right now! (311 is rockin the place with a 3 hour and 11 minute long set because it's 3/11 day)... I'm jealous. Whoever attends that show should come here and tell us why it's the best show ever.

I remember my parents went to a Pink Floyd concert when I was young. They left me home with a baby sitter and took my brother. I was so pissed. I hope they do another concert

The only concert I have been to was a John Mellencamp one. It was the day before 9/11.

the best concert i've been to would have to be linkin park they have the greatest energy and i got to shake hands with mike shinoda that was the best !!!!

Brand New in chicago at the metro october 21 of 2003. Front row the whole thing except i fell back to mosh to a song called seventy times 7 because well i just had too . . . . End of the show jesse took my hand and bowed to the crowd and the whole show he just kept looking at me i think i sang every word to the 1 hour and 50 minute set that night . . . they didn't play either song off the ep but i think they played all but 1 of every other song released to date.

The best concert(s) that I have been to would be:

B2K of course because I enjoy their music and I love to watch them dance and perform songs individually. And the way they get the crowed hyped up is a big plus

Destiny's Child because the 4 orginal members had some real tight harmony and I loved to listen to them sing. And I liked the fact that they were friends and worked well together

Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurklon (sp)- I actaully got the chance to meet them after they did the show together. Even though I love hip-hop r&b and rap I still love gospel and other types of music. The concert was amazing and they both have such great voice range and incrediable breathe control. They both really inspire to get my singing career on the move, and even though they performed slow gospel songs it touched my heart and made me get goose bumps because thats how great they sound together also their harmony was tight.

The Ladies Tour (Missy Elliot, Beyonce, Alicia Keys and some other people) Alicia Keys is I would have to say the best singer (to me) Her perfomence wasn't all big and flashy like Beyonce she was very suddle and very real with her whole show and what not. I was just excited and also her voice and her skills on the piano is amazing. I mean she had me over there is awe and in tears with her ablility to sing and play and make them both mesh together.

Those my favorite concerts that I have been to, even though I have been to way more than that.

i got PR tickets, so i'll be seeing LP soon.
But, I saw POD agian...they rocked. I recommend u check out that tour. Lacuna Coil and Hazen St. are awesome there as well.
Rush wuz a good concert as well. It wuz awesome finally seeing Neil live. ^_^

Bruce Springsteen puts on the best show. He is 54 and STILL plays for 3 hours. He used to play 4-5 hours. Best show ever.

i've only been to 2 concerts...

and my favourite of the 2 was Clay Aiken. It's hard to tell if it was actaully really super good, because I love him, and don't have much to compare it to. But I liked it. A lot.

Well, the best one I went to and liked was... well, it's not really a CONCERT.. it is but an orchestraic concert: Lord of the Rings Symphony. Awesome.

The Best concert I've been to is the New Year's Evil concert at the Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ from December 31, 1998 @ 5:00 PM to January 1, 1999 @ 12:30 AM. Bands in order of appearance: Soul Fly, Slayer, Mega-Death, Pantera and Black Sabbath. It was awesome, complete with fireworks at the end.

The best concert Ive seen in Australia was Elvis the concert in 1999.
James Burton, Ronnie Tutt playing live with an incredible Elvis on a giant screen was almost spiritual
