Movies you refuse to see because you don't like the actor

Are there any movies you won't go see because you can't stand the actor? I personally hate Jim Carey. I can't endure anything he is in. I hated him on In Living Color, so that is where my ban on him started.

I absolutely HATE Russell Crowe. Many people say that I've missed some wonderful movies, such as Gladiator, or Beautiful Minds. I don't care... I can not stand that man. He makes my skin crawl. Ever since he started asking out girls under the age of 17 in Hollywood. Please... that's just nasty. I remember watching a "red carpet" before some awards show, a couple years ago, and one young actress was saying about how Russell Crowe will ask out anyone in a skirt!!!!

James Woods was funny as hell in the opener to Scary Movie 2.
Hey played a priest, and they did a joke on The Exorcist!!! It was funny.

James Woods creeps me out. We also have a Steven Segal ban going in our house.

You're right Kris, he was funny in Scary Movie, I think that's the only time I can stand him.

I don't really appreciate Denise Richards' acting. I just can't enjoy it, like some others I know. I don't want to be offensive, but where acting is concerned, she's God-awful.... Everything else about her is hot, hot, hot...

One guy who I don't have to worry about ever ending up in a really good movie is Kasper Van Dien... He sucks the bag also...

Anyone here watch the TV show One Tree Hill? Anyone know the character named Nathan? Whoever it is that plays that character, is terrible also... If he ever ended up in a movie, I'm sure that if there wasn't any serious star power to draw me in, I'd boycott it. I have NO acting experience, and I can act better than him...

Oh, and the all-time ban for me (which I've been able to stick to with relative ease...) is anything that Mariah Carey has been in. She's only fooling herself if she thinks she can act....

Britany is about in that catagory. I don't like seeing singers acting.
Though, I like Jennifer Lopez. She's not too bad!!!

I agree, J-Lo can act, but I don't think she could really sing when she started out. She must've taken some voice lessons, but her last song that got radio play (I think it's title was Baby, I Love You...) was awful. That was a song to showcase someone's voice, and J-Lo couldn't handle it... But, she is a good actor (or actress... Can't tell which is the correct term nowadays...)

How about Barbra S??? Whitney Houston was ok, wasn't she?

I can agree with that... Form your total image in one genre first, then think about expanding your scope and reach by moving into another... That's how it should be, but people nowadays think they have to capitalize on fame and success instantly... I think the ride would be more enjoyable if they could be totally proud of all their endeavours... But I guess that's just me...

No, it's not just you! I agree.... I think that too many young people become successful in one area, and then they THINK that they have to branch out and do something else. They don't!!!! Really... I don't want to see all these singers making movies. Nor do I want to have actors putting out albums. They aren't that good at it... few can do it all. But, those who try put out low quality crap, a lot of the time.

Brittney ban was just so obvious that I forgot to include her.

J.Lo can act, but I am just so sick of hearing about her.

KJ, I'm one who will also point out that you're missing out on a couple really, really great movies in Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind. The story is fantastic for both of them, so it's too bad that you'll avoid those two quality movies because of Crowe... If only he could be digitally removed and replaced with?? (I'll leave that up to you! )

Also, from what I'm hearing and reading, Master and Commander is another fantastic movie (being called the best film of it's kind EVER) that you probably will miss out on because of Crowe... I can't say that he is thrilling for me as an actor, but I'm really hard to please in that sense sometimes... But the movies that he has been in (basically, the above, plus L.A. Confidential...) have all been critical gems, and have done quite well at the box office. Not that those factors always are telling of a great movie, but usually those factors suggest a movie that is at least worth seeing...

Oh well... The ban continues, I'm sure...

I'm sure that they ARE great movies. But sometimes, you can't get passed the person in the lead role. That's how it is for me with Crowe. Maybe, someday, I will rent those movies. Who knows But, I still don't like him!

I watched a Beautiful Mind, but I will not see Gladiator. I too just don't like him.

Ever since she played Arwen in LOTR, I cannot watch Liv Tyler. She has ruined the whole LOTR thing for me. I know it's not her fault, it the script peoples fault for writing all that extra crap about her, but I can't stand her now.

Woody Allen makes me want to kick myself in the face. I will never see any of his movies. The jerk casts himself opposite 20-something year old leading ladies as his love interests. Please.

He makes me sick....I dont know why...he just does. Ive seen Top Gun, and Risky Business.....I only watched Top Gun to look at Val Kilmer....and Risky Business was before the "I Hate Tom" period in my life!

Well, my son is only 4. The only things he is hiding under the mattress are toys to play with when he is supposed to be sleeping. But, if he likes Jim, there is always therapy.
