What type of gifts do you like to receive? This could help others with their ideas. I love it when my mom buys me pajamas at Christmas.

I love getting gift certificates so that I can go to the book stores and pick out different books to add to my collection, or even dvd's. I really don't collect anything... so, it's easy. BOOKS!!! I love 'em, a lot. That... or something for my computer. I want to get the equipment to have wireless connection to the internet. I think that it will cost me about $100.00 Might be something that I ask my mom for. Or, I will just get that later.

I asked my sister what we were doing about presents for the kids this year and she told me about the following site:

http://www.boxtops4education.com/

All of the schools in our area collect box tops and send them in for a donation to the school. On this site you can shop online for Holiday gifts and a percentage of your purchase goes back to the school of your choice. I just thought I'd throw it out there, give to your kids and their school at the same time.

As for myself, for the past few years I've never really wanted anything for Christmas. I just have fun going to my sister's and stuffing the stockings for the girls, then watching them tear into their presents like little tazmanian devils on Christmas morning. My favorite part about the Holidays is the food and family.

Yes Chel, I too can't wait to see the kids. I really don't have anything I really want this year. I just can't wait to see Damon and Nikki on Christmas morn.

Well, I'm looking on Amazon.com to see if I can find it for you. If not, when I get home I will get that info for you.

  • The Magical Worlds of Harry Potter: A Treasury of Myths, Legends, and Fascinating Facts

    by Connie Neal

  • The Wisdom of Harry Potter: What Our Favorite Hero Teaches Us About Moral Choices

Thanks Kris. That will help Ron with his shopping.
The only thing I had on my list this year was The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I had read it years ago, and now I don't remember any of it.

No promblemo, sis. And that title is the correct one.
Mom got it for me at Walden Books, for my bday. I think that it was $25

Anything that runs off of batteries. It's good if it requires batteries because that means that it does more than just sitting there looking stupid. I like electronics, music...anything along those lines. As for something less expensive, books are good. Someone gave me a Vampire Encyclopedia last year for Christmas which I thought was like the best thing in the world. This year, I'm hoping for a deck of tarrot cards. Crucifixes are always good. It allows me to expand my collection of them. I know, I have a taste for strange things. But, what can I say?

Well, Heidi got her xmas bonus at work today... a $300 Visa.
So, we went out to dinner, and then "hit the stores!"
We got some presents from us, to us! Clothes, books, dvds, etc...
I LOVE getting gift certificates and cards, because you can shop for what you want!

Yes they are so cool. I love getting DVD's. We parents with small kids do not get to the movies very often, so DVD's are so wonderful to receive.

I actually enjoy getting the type of gifts that some people find sort of impersonal ?

For example I absolutely LOVE getting:

-- Commercial Consumables

-a big box of cheese ... the handpacks not the pre-pack ones that have those little cheese spread things that are raised in the box to look bigger.

-Fancy teas/coffees/cocoa, but skip the ones with the mugs included unless it's a new travel mug since I'm always losing them

-Jams/Jellies/Honey ... especially unusual flavors or regional varieties and specialties

-Fudge, chocolate-nut covered toffee, hand-packed chocolates, licorice

-Fruit/Nuts especially those luscious pears from Harry and David !

also

-- Plants/Flowers ... Living arrangements and yes even poinsettias, amaryllis and Christmas Cactus

See how easy I am ?

OBAF, how can anyone argue with chocolate as a gift. My sister loves it when I make chocolate covered macadamia nuts for her.

I would like to receive some macadamia nuts... without chocolate!
Sherry... I think that I need to raid your back yard!

Kris, I would not recommend raiding that tree. There is a hummingbird that lives in there and he gets really pissed off if you get up in that tree.

I didn't say THAT! I just said to stay out of My tree because that little bird will dive bomb you. Seriously, next time I see ya, I will try to bring you some. They are still drying.

No way, OBAF, as the newest member of the Fuscia family, it's me that's moving next door! Besides, I already know where they live. I've been there!

I love getting plants for gifts. My son gave me a baby Aleppo pine for Christmas in 1983. It grew about 30 feet tall and is still in the yard.

I also love getting books.

I can't even remember the last time I received a thought.

Or is it the count that thinks?
