Why is the media so obsessed with MJ, most other child molestation cases are not nearly as heavily covered as this one?

Is it because he's a celebrity? Or because of the background to this disturbing set of circumstances.....

Your typical child-molester isn't in a position to build his/her own personal disneyland and throw sleep-overs where the children are invited to sleep in the same bed. Even if nobody had heard the name "Michael Jackson" before, that story would surely still make the evening news.

Also most child molesters hide their behaviour as much as possible, the fact that MJ has fluanted that he has kids sleeping over in his bed, etc , etc makes this an extraordinary case.

Yes, Michael has flaunted his love for children, that's because he has nothing to hide, idiot.

Yes, Michael did have a pretty screwed up childhood, and how do you know he can't relate to anyone but children. Oh, by the way did you hear the latest that the kid is sticking up for Michael? So I guess his mom did trump up these charges. I think Michael is the greatest and these false charges don't change the way I feel, I believe all these allegations are a bunch of bull, the love of money will make "certain" people do anything.

Well, the media likes to pick on michael. He's a walking freakshow, he's got problems, and seeing his frailtys makes the 300lb inbreds mothers of 36 who buy tabloids feel better about themselves as they lay on their couches, eat cheetos, and watch maury. I feel bad for the dude personally. He was forced to practice singing and dancing from age 5 (roundabout) from morning till night and severely beaten when he messed up. That sounds like the origin of a marvel supervillian to me. We're lucky he hasn't used all of his money to put together a destructo-ray. I don't like the double standards though... Mike has never seen a court with these charges, but Woody allen molested his step daughter for YEARS and eventually married her, and he's welcomed at lakers games. mike is unjustly picked on.

and i think it's kinda healthy to somebody an idiot on occasion. you don't have to take all that criticism

gaboman thanks for sharing but to everyone on these posts: if it doesn't apply let it fly. I agree Woody Allen molested his daughter for years and nobody blew that up, and he then married her, now that's what you call weird and a sicko.

I'm saying the problem is that one man is blasted for accusation, when another one still is generally loved by the public when we KNOW he did it.

BTW, Woody Allen was found innocent of child molestation in a court of law. The child in question was an adopted daughter of Woody Allen and Mia Farrow, not a biological daughter.

He does have a relationship, a marriage actually, to one of Mia Farrows other adopted daughters, Soon-Yi. They were married in 1997. She was 27 and he was 62 at the time.
