Are you like me, and get really crafty for the Holidays, and like to make things for people instead of always buying a gift? Well, share some ideas of things that you've made in the past for gifts... or you're currently working on.

In previous years, Heidi and I have painted frames and other wood things as gifts. Last year we painted flower pots (did specific things for people)and put really nice plants in them. This year, we are making christmas stockings, with specific material for different family members, and going to put our Christmas photo in them!!! It's really fun to make specific things for people.

Heidi's mom is in to fly fishing and just wilderness type stuff. So, we've bought wood drawers, frames, etc... and painted mountains, rivers, trees, etc... on them. Maybe added a wood moose or fish on things. It's a lot of fun.

I like to give refrigerator magnets with pictures of the kids to the grandma's. They love them.

This year I am making some fused glass pendants. They have snowflakes acid etched into them. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

Sherry, before you wrap those up, let me know that they are done. I would love to see them.

This year I am doing some scrapbook calendars for the grandma's. I gave them one year and almost got lynched for not giving them last Christmas.

Oh, another good idea is to get a picture and make it into a custom mouse pad. I gave Ron one of the kids last year.

Thats a good idea too.

I like the plant idea...my mom loves plants....that might be a good thing to give her from my son. What kind of paint did that require?

Most Vons and Target stores do it. It takes about 10-14 days to get back. You bring in a photo. It is usually offered on the back of a brochure for Christmas Photo Cards. They really do make great presents.

Depends on what you're intentions are for the plant. Will it be outdoors, or inside? That will determine the plant that you want. Really, just got to a Home Depot, or somewhere that has a garden, and get some plants. You really shouldn't have to spend but a couple bucks on each plant.

The paint depends on the plant? How come? Because of the pots needed?

Am I confused?

See, I'm so dang sick, that I thought that you were asking what kind of PLANT!!! Gods, I've got to get well. I'm so loopy! I don't know HOW I'm doing my job, and not screwing up numbers and paying the employee's more than they should be getting!!!

We used a terra cota (sp?) paint, for flower pots!! You can get that in a craft store such as Michael's!!!!

Let's see if I can think of specifics that I did last year!!!

On my brothers, I painting it two different shades of blue, with the darker blue on the rim. Then, on the body, I did really cool writing, with the paintbrush, and did his name, his fiances name and their sons name! It was really cool.

I think that I did a garden pattern on one. Stripes with different patterns on another, and so on. It was a lot of fun. I really like sitting down and painting stuff. I'm not really artistic, but I can do simple things. Heidi can do a lot more creative than I can.
