Well, I was talking to someone (Grant) on ICQ, and he gave me a great idea for a thread. He was asking me what songs have ever made me just go "WOW!" Not just really good ones... we're talking to ones that you feel all the way through your skin... to your core. They can be romantic, spiritual... whatever. So, if you can, tell us the preformer, song title, and if you have the lyrics, put those in here too.

And if you want to talk about what the lyrics mean to you, feel free. You can discuss it, because there is a reason that these songs touch you.

There just aren't songs that touch my core, very often. But, these two Celine Dion songs floor me. I don't know WHAT it is about them... but the music, the words, her voice... those three things make those songs touch me in such a way that I'm breathless.

But, the one that really get's me is when the little girl, Danielle Van Damme, was kidnapped from her home in the middle of the night last year, here in San Diego. Her body was found eventually, and a neighbor went to trial and prison. This song was played at her funeral, as all of San Diego watched. It ripped me apart.)

This is the song I thought was called "Will I Dance For You Jesus". The first time I heard it was on our very popular Lite Rock station. I thought I was listening to our Christian station, but when the song ended, they gave the call letters of the station and I couldn't believe it was broadcast over a secular station.

It wasn't an accident, as they played it several times after too. It gave me chills to hear this song.

You really have to be going through the loss of a relationship, and actually hear the song to get the "wow" effect. I don't even like country... But this song kills me whenever I hear it!

I first heard that Brian Adam's song when I was 11 years old. I loved the song because I've always loved music, but I didn't even udnerstand how deep the song could be. 6 years later I experienced "love" for the first time, and heard that song again. In 5 and a half minutes I went through a journey, from being an 11 year old kid, to approaching adult hood while holding the first love of my life in my arms, and really understanding where that song came from.

Now as I read it 4 years later, 10 years after the first time I heard it, I really understand how quickly time goes by. Great song, definately on my "wow" list.

My next "WOW" song is "amazing" by aerosmith, but I think I saw that posted already.
