Al Qaida commander 'anticipates' 100,000 Americans dead in attack |
| Posted by: Marc Flemming | | Al-Qal'a (The Fortress) an Islamist Internet forum, posted the first of a two-part interview with a person who introduced himself as Abu Salma Al-Hijazi, one of the Al Qaida commanders closest to Osama bin Laden.(1) The interview was conducted in Iraq, south of Faluja. The article notes that Al-Hijazi was surrounded by five masked men carrying missiles as well as personal weapons. The following are excerpts from the interview:
In regard to rumors about a large-scale attack against the U.S. during the month of Ramadan, Al-Hijazi said that "a huge and very courageous strike" will take place and that the number of infidels expected to be killed in this attack, according to primary estimates, exceeds 100,000. He added that he "anticipates, but will not swear, that the attack will happen during Ramadan."
He further stated that the attack will be carried out in a way that will "amaze the world and turn Al Qaida into [an organization that] horrifies the world until the law of Allah is implemented, actually implemented, and not just in words, on His land... You wait and see that the balance of power between Al Qaida and its rivals will change, all of a sudden, Allah willing."
Regarding Al Qaida detainees, Al-Hijazi said: "We follow their situation closely... the collaborating governments will pay the price for capturing these heroes who want to revive the glory of their nation and shake off the dust of humiliation and disgrace."
Al-Hijazi added that the "collaborating and treacherous" governments should know that Al Qaida has a long reach and its members enjoy popularity that will not end just because apostate governments detain hundreds of Al Qaida's members. "As soon as the governments detain one of our people, ten like him join us... this is no secret."
Al-Hijazi said that Al Qaida instructed its members not to confront the governments of Islamic countries and clarified that Americans are the main target of the organization, wherever they may be, in order to cause their disintegration and collapse, even if it takes a long time. "We are patient," he added, "our patience will only end with the collapse of America and its agents."
Al-Hijazi also said: "There is no doubt that the demise of America and its collapse will lead to the collapse of these fragile regimes that depend on it... We will not stop until we establish the Islamic Caliphate and until Allah's law is implemented in His land."
When asked about the recent bombing in Riyadh, Al-Hijazi referred to Saudi media reports — which claimed that in the attack Muslim women and children were killed — as "merely media deceit." He added: "This place was under surveillance for many months. Following a thorough investigation, it became perfectly clear to us that the people living there were at least 300 Americans and a large group of Lebanese Christians who had tortured Muslims there, in Lebanon, during the civil war. After consultation, we decided it was appropriate to attack this place and destroy it, including the people who lived there, because it housed Americans and a large majority of Christians holding Lebanese citizenship.
"Since the Saudi government is aware of the sensitivity of this place and that it is a declared target for Al Qaida, it surrounded it with very heavy security. However, we gave our people in Riyadh a green light to destroy it on top of those inside. Allah facilitated breaking into the place and bombing the part in which mostly Americans stayed. As a result, praise Allah, at least 40 Americans were killed, as well as 27 Christians from Lebanon, and a group of citizens who were Muslim; also, at least 70 Americans were injured, as well as more than 30 citizens of other countries, most of them Christians from Lebanon."
According to Al-Hijazi, a Saudi religious scholar who is wanted by Saudi authorities will claim responsibility in a televised communiqué for the bombing "and for other operations to come." He added that the wills of the attackers will be published, apparently, in the month of Shawwal — the month following Ramadan according to the Muslim calendar - when Al Qaida's main website, Al-Nida, is due to be reactivated.

| Posted by: USA1 | | Are you sure there are more good ones? By good ones, you mean those that align with the western mentality?
I argree that Al Queada is a black mark on humanity but there are more extremest groups than just Al Queada.
I am not sure if there aren't more Muslims who feel this way but don't act. When they don't against, it will never end.
This was my point a long time ago. What makes one of the largest segments of society not act against extremists? Domination? Turn the other cheek? Pacifism?
This has to do with controlling education and it has been mostly ignored for the last 3 decades. That is a lot of people educated to hate the West. | | Reply To this Message

Ramadan is in January so this threat was all bluster and no truth. Al Qa'ida attack civilians because they don't have the size or strength to attack the military (other than the geurilla style they are using in Iraq). They are a terrorist organisation, not a military organisation and they don't wear uniforms and we don't know either where they are or who they are so we can hardly bomb them back into the stone age or as you put it, ass kick them as if it we are fighting the Nazis. Differnt time. Different problem. Different solution needed.

You are a mulsim?
Now I understand.
All talk, no action.
Here's a tip. Go to the mosque and ask to speak to the congregation (or whatever you call that group) tell them to stop. See what happens.
I think it will answer all the questions for you. | | Reply To this Message

Yes it is a different time and a different problem. They do attack the military and they wear black uniforms. They have organized attacks. So there is some kind of military organization here. We do know who some of them are and when we get the intel on there wherabouts that is when they need to show them a wrath they would not forget!
There are so many people that want to slam the U. S. And yes we are not perfect but at least we do not do genocide on our own people. We don't go around telling people our religon is the only right one. If so many muslims hate America why do so many live here!! We haven't even given an all out show of what we are capable of. We could have turned that country to dust then planted a flag and said oil is ours now.
We got rid of the thug in charge and want to hand power back over to the people of Iraq.
Organizations like Al-Qaida just look for a cause for a holy war. And they will always exist until they realize that no one will tolerate their actions. And yes there is more than just Al-Qaida.
One time of bowing down to these punks will make it grow ten fold.
Everyone especially the mid East nations need to single them out and say "we will not tolerate any more."

The US is slammed because it chose to go to war in Iraq against much of world opinion for reasons that few believed. It was known that the neocons had wanted to invade Iraq well before 9/11 happened. Despite people knowing the war was inevitable we still had to listen to Bush and Blair stating many times that Saddam could remain in power as long as he gave up his WMD.
Bush, Blair, and politicians in general have tried to blur the truths around Iraq and build myths around themselves of what they are doing and why. Many people now confuse Iraq and Al Qa'ida as if they are one and the same. This is a big mistake but convenient for the politicians.
We have a problem with Al Qa'ida and terrorism, and this hasn't dimished since we went into Iraq - on the contrary it has got worse (as intelligence told us it would). The terrorist problem is unlikely to get better whatever happens in Iraq. So how stupid and counterproductive was it, when we had such a serious proble with Al Qa'ida, to start a war with a country in the Middle East.
Politicians make mistakes but few make such big one's as Bush has made in Iraq. So who's smarter Bush or Bin Laden?

That's really something, an American (I presume you are an American sowhatsthetruth) using a quote that accusses other people of regarding themselves as superiour
The nerve of it - isn't the USA the greatest nation on the planet? That's what many Americans on her endlessly proclaim to a bored of listening to them world. God bless the United States.

The world need not merely listen to the proclamation.
Anyone with eyes to see can see it with their own eyes.
And just ask the millions of immigrants who come into the USA.
They will tell you the USA is the best country in the world.
USA may not be perfect, but besides ISRAEL (just ask the people who WANT to emigrate to ISRAEL, including American Jews), its the best this world has to offer. (Ask any of the Palestinians living in Israel....would they like to give up their Israeli passports?. None of them do or they would have done so a long time ago.)
Besides h@ts, you don't reveal your home country in your profile. Could it be you have no pride for your homeland or its achievements? | | Reply To this Message

I'm from England.
It's absolutely hilarious the amount of Amercans that actually repeat this mantra that the US is the greatest nation on the planet. Don't you realise how silly this sounds? I really don't take it seriuosly, but scarily I do beleive many Americans do believe it.
This argument that lots of immigrants keep piling into America is meaningless. Immigrants are piling into all the rich countries of the world for one reason - because they are poor.
Fair dos if you think the US is the greatest thing since slice bread but why keep telling everyone else?

You would have to live here to understand.
I for one would never choose to live in a "democratic" socialist country such as yours. Socialism...the precursor of Communism...you can have it.
Britain is overrun by Islamic fundamentalists and Britain is suffering all the more for it.
I am not the "typical" American. I have been to Europe (including England) on several occasions and have seen the ignorance of the ugly American. Europe was beautiful as far as the scenery, architecture, etc. , but when it was all said and done, I was happy to go home. | | Reply To this Message

sowhatsthetruth - everyone says "You would have to live here to understand" and who's to say they're wrong. Our heart belongs to the country we were born in.
It's one thing to think you live in the best country in the world. It's arrogant and annoyingly boring to keep reminding the world - all the time!
You have a strange idea of democratic Socialism - it's hardly Communism. It just mean we pay more tax but have a decent health service that's available to all - rich or poor.

If you read Marx or any Communist leader, they all say that socialism is the precursor to Communism. I didnt say socialism was communism, again I said socialism is the precursor to Communism. I am not going to give you a well needed lesson in political science...I urge you to do that yourself.
You said:

This is the bias of someone from a socialist viewpoint. It stems from the myth of the wealthy making the poor poorer and the rich getting richer off their backs.
The true reason people flow into this country like water, is because of our freedoms to make something of themselves. We have freedom of religion, freedom of speech, liberty and justice for all. At least that is what we try to make it as.
The problem comes in when socialists such as yourself tries to convince the poor that they are oppressed and need the help of the government. Meanwhile that government plots to enslave the people.
Canada has tried universal healthcare and it is failing miserably.
I suggest you run some numbers and find out how many lives have truly been saved in your "healthcare" system.
Government has no place intruding on healthcare or any other commodity.
If they want to place some restrictions on corporations to force these companies to provide healthcare...I think that is a better solution.
I don't want government intruding in my life as much as possible...as long as I abide by its laws.
I am glad you love England. I am afraid for you and everyother European country, now that you have adopted the European Union...it's just one more step in a socialist/communist world government. From the BBC news, the EU doesnt seem to be all that popular...as shown by the recent elections of the EU parliament...hardly any one showed up to vote. | | Reply To this Message

I couldn't care less what Marx said. England is not going towards anything like communism and has over the last 30 years moved further and further away from Socialism. It has embraced market capitalism as much if not more than any other country in Europe. Some good, some bad.

Socialist viewpoint? Myth that the wealthy make the poor poorer? What are you talking about? Immigrants want a better life in a richer country because there's wealth and jobs and yes, if they come from an oppressive country freedom from living in fear.
Britain has a good health service and rich and poor get get good medical health care regardless. The fact that we want everyone to have access to good health care is something most British people are proud of. It's what make Britain the greatest nation on the planet. Again, the snobbery, and thats ok, I can handle that, but....
I've seen Parliament sessions on c-span in their entirety. It's more like watching Benny Hill or a Monty Python movie than serious lawmaking.
In fact during Parliament recently, an irate Brit threw a condom full of purple talcolm powder at Tony Blair and it stopped the session.
I wouldn't call these antics "civilised." | | Reply To this Message
