| dr.poke...you ask the question will the world be a safer place? I would ask you if we do nothing how safe are we?....should we wait for the next attack? should we let saddam allow more terrorist training?....should we let saddam sell off some of the chemicals he has?...
all one has to do is look back through history to see that those nations that wont stand up and fight are conquered by a nation that will....in this case we may not be fighting a nation( refering to terrorism) but we damn sure are fighting for our safety and right to remain free from terror....i would ask you this, if we do nothing isn't that the same as saying it's okay to attack our nation or our interests....sometimes the best defense is a good offense...
terrorists have shown that they dont mind dying to promote thier cause, so realistically we have very little way to persuade them to not carry out thier actions....however, if we can get the nations that they come from to help rid themselves and to stop promoting terrorism....we may very well win the battle...only a democratic nation can provide that type of support, and if the nation itself has something to lose by promoting terrorists, perhaps they will root them out and save all of us before it is too late | |
