Pop superstar Madonna is planning to adopt a baby girl by next spring, according to reports in Britain.
The Hollywood hitmaker recently spoke out about the fertility problems she and film director husband Guy Ritchie have experienced, blaming her exercise regime for playing havoc with her body.
And now pal Roz Barrett has told British magazine Now that the Material Girl wants to adopt in order to give her daughter Lourdes and son Rocco a new sibling.
Roz confides, "Madonna let the news slip recently that she's adopting a baby girl. She's been sharing the happy news with select friends for the last few weeks and if all goes well, she and Guy could have their new baby by next spring."
Another friend adds, "Madonna and Guy have been trying for months to do it naturally, but they've had no success so far. They won't wait for a miracle, so the plan is to adopt a baby girl. They agree another girl would be a perfect addition to their family."
Madonna limits her kids to watching just one movie a week -- and no TV.
The strict mum is determined to keep her son Rocco and daughter Lourdes away from what she calls "bad influences" and so she bans TV watching.
But she admits her children are huge fans of "SpongeBob SquarePants," which they see when their parents buy the DVDs.
She says, "They get to watch one movie a week as a treat. We get the DVDs so there's no kind of commercials or programming."
Pop queen Madonna finds marriage to moviemaker Guy Ritchie a constant challenge, because they are both so different.
The Material Girl told talk show host Jay Leno that the couple, who wed in December 2000, are happy together -- but their union is often a battle of wills.
She says, "Marriage isn't easy. It is a challenge especially if there are two strong-willed people who get together.
Madonna has been forced to drop the asking price for her Beverly Hills mansion after failing to sell the renovated home she bought from actress Diane Keaton.
The pop superstar put the property on the market at $10.9 million earlier this year, but she has recently shaved $1 million off her top price.
The 7,000 square foot home was designed by Wallace Neff.
KABBALAH WILL HELP MADONNA AVOID THE TERRIBLE TEENS
Madonna is convinced she'll avoid the terrible teens with her children Lourdes and Rocco because they've been raised on the principles of the Kabbalah.
The pop superstar encourages her kids to help fellow beings as prescribed in the ancient Jewish teachings -- and she feels sure they'll both grow up to be caring teenagers instead of rebellious slobs, after meeting good examples of Kabbalah kids.
She explains, "I've seen teenagers who've been in this Spirituality for Kids program. At 16 they're amazing human beings. They don't think it's cool to be rebellious and hate their parents.
"They think it's cool to be in the service of others. God willing, my children will grow up with the same principles and ideas."
Celebrity couple Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie have spent a romantic holiday in Italy, away from their two children.
The couple -- who wed in December 2000 -- enjoyed a stroll in Rome, then travelled to waterway city Venice, before flying back to their home in London to reunite with their 3-year-old son, Rocco, and Madonna's 7-year-old daughter, Lourdes.
An onlooker in Rome says, "They looked really loved up. Guy put his arm around her and seemed really protective as they walked around.
"It definitely looked as though they were treasuring some quiet time together away from the kids."
Madonna has revealed that she wants another child in spite of her biological clock being slightly messed up at 45.
Now that little Rocco is almost four, friends of Madonna's say the 45-year-old singer would like to have another child, reports the New York Daily News newspaper.
"She has it all planned out to a T," says a friend. "She began visiting her fertility doctor in Los Angeles in late March.
"Her tour was already planned for the summer, but Madonna wanted to undergo tests to find out if she would be able to get pregnant and carry a baby at her age."
The singer admitted in a recent interview that she worried that "because of my exercising and this, that and the other, I've kind of screwed up my cycle a bit."
But a source says her doctors have now told her she's in good shape to conceive.
Madonna is also said to have sought the blessing of her Kabbalah counsellor, Rabbi Yehuda Berg, who told her "more kids would be a great thing for her spiritual growth," says the source. "He said, 'Go for it'."
MADONNA has got daughter LOURDES starting the publicity bandwagon early. She has made her first charity appearance at the ripe old age of seven.
While Madge was performing in Canada, Lourdes visited a local children’s hospital at pilgrimage site Lourdes in France and read from her mother’s book The English Roses.
Then she handed out free copies of the bestseller to patients.
An onlooker said: “She was great. She’s a fabulous reader. There were a lot of people there but not a huge entourage for Lourdes.
“We gave her a present — a bravery bead necklace that we give to children undergoing treatment. She loved it and put it right on.”
schmiggens said this in post #10 : There were a lot of people there but not a huge entourage for Lourdes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When asked about reports that little Lourdes had her own entourage, Lipkin said: 'It was just a little one.'
Dear God. That's insane.
It reminds me of a story about Lourdes on a video shoot with Madonna and she asked one of her mum's entourage to get her a diet coke. I think Lourdes was about five at the time. The guy who got her the coke, got her a normal coke, not a diet coke and she said to him "I said "diet coke" a**hole". Charming little girl.
It’s good to see the family having fun in the sun together after a furious bust-up between Guy and Madge on Saturday.
The Brit movie director threatened to “break the face” of one of his missus’ Kabbalah faith advisers, sparking a huge row between the superstar couple.
So now it’s great to see him switch from tough Guy to nice Guy to play the doting dad.
IT’S a big moment in any kid’s life – the day they learn to ride a bike without stabilisers.
For ROCCO RITCHIE it has come just a few days before his fourth birthday.
The lad – decked out in helmet and elbow and knee pads just in case – looked thrilled as dad GUY helped him along their London street on his smart red bike.
Mum MADONNA looked on – and Rocco’s sister LOURDES gave him a hug and a kiss after his triumph.
That is so cute. And I am glad that even being famous these two have time to spend with their kids doing "normal" stuff. A lot of celebrity parents would probably have their nannies teach the kids how to ride. Good on them for doing it themselves!
Madonna made her return to the French capital on Wednesday, with a jaw-dropping show at the Omnisports Arena. But while 15,000 Parisians were enjoying the spectacular concert, the Material Girl's children were enjoying some thrills of a very different kind.
Eight-year-old Lourdes and her little brother Rocco paid a visit to a fun-fair while their iconic mum was preparing for the gig. Dressed in blue jeans with a thick leather belt and black tank-top for her outing, Lourdes is looking more like her mother every day. Onlookers also noticed the little girl was sporting once of the red string Kabbalah bracelets, associated with the spiritual organisation Madonna follows.
Rocco meanwhile seems to have inherited his father's good looks. The blonde youngster appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the rides at the Jardin d'Acclimatation theme park. Indeed the only person looking somewhat worried was their nanny, who seemed rather apprehensive when she joined her two charges for a ride on the roller coaster.
Madge was meanwhile bringing her Re-Invention tour to the home of couture. And there's little doubt that she's still in hot demand in the city - tickets to her opening concert sold out in less than 30 minutes.
Pop superstar Madonna is adamant marriage and motherhood haven't tamed her.
Now 46, married to director Guy Ritchie and the mother of daughter, Lourdes and son Rocco, the Material Girl has been performing for 20 years.
She has also found God, in the form of her interest in the Kabbalah, a mystic branch of Judaism -- but the singer insists she hasn't lost her edge.
Madonna tells Page Six, "I am happier now than I've ever been in my life. I have two beautiful children and a brilliant, gorgeous husband. I have my work and I have my faith. None of that means I've lost my sense of humor or my sense of fun. If that's boring to some people, I can't tell you how much I don't care."
I think that great. And of course motherhood has tamed, you can't be a frisky sex kitten continuously for your whole life, she has matured and grown and that changes you as a person, she is still the same women who did "In Bed With Madonna" and the "Sex" book, but just more mature and grounded.
[World News]: New York, Oct 30 : Madonna is reportedly planning to adopt a child as she has not been able to conceive, despite being absolutely healthy.
According to the Star magazine, Madge and hubby Guy Ritche are planning to bringa child home in early 2005, though they haven't given up on having a child of their own.
According to a source close to the couple , the couple is happily keen to adopt a child as well as have a baby of their own, the magazine said.(ANI)
MADONNA: 'I DON'T WANT LOURDES TO FOLLOW IN MY FOOTSTEPS'
Queen of pop Madonna is desperate for daughter Lourdes not to follow in her raunchy footsteps.
Earlier in her career, the Material Girl made her name with saucy semi-naked stage routines, simulated oral sex with a wine bottle in documentary "Truth or Dare," and even published a book with steamy full-frontal naked pictures of herself.
But, now she has found her spiritual side, the 46-year-old singer is keen for 8-year-old Lourdes to find a more virtuous path through life.
During a recent interview with CNN, host Richard Quest asked, "If your daughter Lourdes decided to prance around the stage in her underwear, singing and hollering, would you approve?"
Madonna replied, "If she was an adult, there's, you know, not a lot I could do about it. She would be free to make that choice."
Quest responded, "Would you approve? If she behaved like you, if she mirrored your life to some extent, as a mother, who's now essentially found a spiritual way of life, would you approve?"
To which Madonna conceded, "Probably not."
In the same interview...
Madonna blasted accusations her interest in Kabbalah is a fad, but attacks some celebrities for following the faith because it is fashionable.
The pop superstar insists she has been studying the mystical offshoot of Judaism seriously for eight years, but accepts stars including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan may feign interest to attract attention to themselves.
She says, "I wouldn't say studying Kabbalah for eight years goes under the category or falls under the category of being a fad or a trend.
"Now there might be people who are interested in it because they think it's trendy, but I can assure you that studying Kabbalah is actually a very challenging thing to do. It requires a lot of work, a lot of reading, a lot of time, a lot of commitment and a lot of discipline."
It must be wierd for Lourdes as she grows up, to Lourdes as a young child Madonna is just Mum but as she grows up now she must be realising that her mum is this other person and has done all this wierd stuff.
How would you feel if you found out your mum had published a book of nude photos and simulated sex. It'd creep you out.
Madonna is eager to add a third child to her family clan -- and plans to have "fun" trying to get pregnant with husband Guy Ritchie.
The singer, 46, is already mother to Lourdes, 8 -- her daughter with former fitness instructor Carlos Leon -- and 3-year-old son Rocco with her "Snatch" film-making spouse.
And Madonna's excited about the intimate activities involved in creating another child with Ritchie. She says, "I'm going to have fun with my husband and see what happens."

Madonna's daughter Lourdes enjoyed some quality time with her dad this week when she was reunited with former bike messenger and personal trainer Carlos Leon for a day out in New York city.
Also joining the outing was Lourdes' three-year-old half-brother Rocco – Madonna's son by husband Guy Ritchie – who, like the rest of the group, was sporting a warm cap to counter the Big Apple chill.
Lourdes is understood to maintain regular contact with her father, who presumably still calls her by her original name. Fellow pupils at the youngster's London school have been instructed to use a different moniker, however. The American Pie singer, who is an enthusiastic follower of the esoteric religion Kabbalah, has apparently told South Kensington's Lycee that in future her daughter is to be referred to by the Biblical name of Sarah.

Madonna is taking this Kaballah thing too far. It's one thing to try and convert all your friends, but to force your kids to have two names based on some religion that they're not old enough to understand is a bit wrong IMO.
You try being twelve and having to explain that to your classmates.
Guy Ritchie plays it cool as 4-year-old Rocco (whose mom is Madonna) tries to turn his dad into a snowman Friday in New York's Central Park, where the two checked out artist Christo's The Gates.
Zut alors! Madonna and Guy Ritchie cannot understand their own children - because they speak in French all the time. Movie director Guy's grandad has revealed Rocco and Lourdes have all but shunned English at home.
The two enfant terribles have been attending posh Lycee Francais School in west London, where they study the language. And with Lourdes now fluent - and Rocco well on the way - their folks are clueless as to what they are saying.
John Ritchie is quoted in The Sun as saying: "Rocco is certainly picking up a lot of French. He speaks it all the time at home because Lourdes is fluent. They talk to each other in French all day, chatting away non-stop. It's very funny. Neither Guy or Madonna speak a word of the language so they cannot understand anything."
Let's start with the basics, Madge: un, deux, trois...
MADONNA will be taking giant fertility tablets flown in from India in her desperate attempt to have a third child.
The 46-year-old singer - who has two children, daughter Lourdes, eight, and four-year-old son Rocco - has turned to alternative therapies to try to get pregnant.
A stash of Ayurvedic tablets - a traditional Indian therapy - has been jetted in to help her conceive.
A source said: "Tablets were sent over from India for her. They looked like horse tablets - they were just so huge. The pills are supposed to increase potency."
Madonna is being advised by celebrity obstetrician Dr Gowri Motha.
The singer has made at least two visits to her Viveka clinic in St John's Wood, North London, as well as being visited at home. Film director husband Guy Ritchie, 36, has also had to down the pills in an effort to boost the couple's chances of having a baby.
Dr Motha was contacted at the clinic before Christmas.
Madonna had also visited the clinic in 2003 to see another baby doctor, Yehudi Gordon.
But she returned on the recommendation of close friend, Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who had Dr Motha on hand when she delivered daughter Apple.
Supermodels Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson and TV presenter Donna Air are also among Dr Motha's fans.
Dr Motha shot to fame more than a decade ago when she pioneered a project which saw a mother give birth amongst dolphins in Eilat, Israel.
After working in conventional obstetrics for several years, she studied alternative therapies, such as reflexology, and developed a cult celebrity following by integrating them with traditional medicine.
Madonna has made no secret of her desire to have a third child. It would be her second by Guy.
Last year she was spotted making a return visit to a fertility clinic in California.
And she recently said: "I'm going to have fun with my husband and see what happens."
But a gruelling exercise regime and her Re-Invention tour have taken their toll on her body.
One friend said: "It's no secret she wants another baby. She has talked about it. Having children has transformed her life and she really wants to have a big family.
"She and Guy are very happy together and their friends are hoping she gets pregnant again."
Madonna has reportedly even talked to her Kabbala counsellor, Rabbi Yehuda Berg, about having a third child.
But not everything has gone smoothly and last November, just a month before her visit to Dr Motha's clinic, Madonna told how she was having problems juggling her busy life.
She said: "I need to calm myself. I don't have a manager anymore, so now I'm my own everything."
CELEBRITY MUMS' FAVOURITE
AYURVEDIC medicine is an ancient Indian therapy that uses herbs, massage and diet to harmonise the body.
It focuses on balancing the body's energy forces. The part of Ayurvedic medicine which deals with fertility problems is called Vajikarana.
Dr Motha, who was born in Sri Lanka, has spent 15 years pioneering the Gentle Birth Method. It places emphasis on diet and mums-to-be are given a strict list of what they can - and can't - eat.
Wheat, sugar, bananas, grapes and mangoes are banned Water, chicken, pears, pineapples and lentils are in. The regime also includes daily yoga, swimming, walking, massage, reflexology and muscle relaxation.
Dr Motha has said: "I have always been bemused that pregnant women spend longer preparing the nursery for the baby than their bodies for birth." A source said: "All the celebs absolutely adore her because she inspires confidence."
NEW YORK -- Madonna says she's the disciplinarian with 9-year-old Lourdes and 5-year-old Rocco.
The former material girl told Newsweek that she doesn't let her children watch TV or look at magazines. She says milk and ice cream are also off-limits.
"When Daddy gets home, they get chocolate," Madonna said. "I'm the disciplinarian."
She's also strict about laundry duties: If Lourdes leaves dirty clothes on the floor, "we take all of her clothes and put them in a bag, and she has to earn all of her clothes back by being tidy," Madonna said. "She wears the same outfit every day to school until she learns her lesson."

That is actually a really good idea. I'm gonna try that out on my kids when I have some.
Film director, screenwriter and producer Guy Ritchie's upcoming film Revolver (a gambler gets on the bad side of a local crime boss) opens in theaters January 26, 2006. Madonna reportedly guest stars. Guy is currently in the planning phase of his next movie about the Knights of Malta.
