How exactly will leaving Saddam in power promote peace and justice in Iraq?

War in Iraq may kill a few civilians for a short time, but leaving Saddam in power will cause guaranteed civilian deaths for as long as he remains in power. He has killed millions of Iraqi people and used nerve gas against his own people.

You know what i mean ? You are brainwashed by US marketing politics and misinformation.

First of All, I am not for Saddam Hussein staying at Iraqi power (for this point, we agree).

BUT, people Saddam killed were Fanatic islamists. Sadedam Hussein is representing the only one socialist governement for all arabian countries (I think, at least he is one of a couple: there are not many). That means : liberty of cult. People he killed were extremists.
The fact that he killed people iimakes me think that he has to move from the iraqi power.
The fact that those people were extremist islamists makes me think that he his the less "bad option" we, occidental countries, have.
For your information, iraqi opposition are islamists (In fact, I do not know what level, but I am sure a governement HAS TO BE founded on something else than religion). Do you think that it seems to be a better option than Saddam Hussein? Do you think that this justifies a war?
Honestly, tell me ?

Those points make me think that :
- Saddam Hussein is the better option we have for Iraqi governement (furthermore, UN inspectors aggreed to say that they all finally get access as they wanted to whatever place or information they asked for, even if that access were sometimes difficult to get)
- US have a politics based on "God" : this is odd ! It is like back to middle age in europe !
- US makes tell religion whatever they want: Bush religion advisor says that this war is approved by god, whereas Vatican and the pope are deeply against this war.
- US are acting without international aggreement, like any dictatorship governement : Nazis were acting the same way.
- This unfounded war will see the rase of terrorism all over the world against Occidental countries.

In no way a single country should have the power of deciding what is good for another country or people. As far as I heard Iraqi people interwiewed, even if we imagine easily that ALL iraqis aggree, they prefer there President than an american governement for Iraq. They like there president. From this point, America should not use weapons but diplomatic effort to achieve our goal : peace in the world.

This is why France and anybody who already faced the war (including American 1st gulf war or Vietnam soldiers) are deaply against this war.

At this point, all the world can see US stupidity.

while i see your points fred, you cannot say that Iraqis like their president.Dictator rules by fear, not by love.

This said, that doenst give USA the right to invade iraq.

Sorry .. there was a not missing in my sentence. I wanted to say : if we imagine easily that NOT ALL iraqis aggree .
Of course : This is still a dictature. But the fact is that I heard on a French radio several Iraqi people and french living in Iraq (there are not lots, indeed) interviewed by journalists that were saying that, in general, Saddam was liked by iraqi people.

I am ashamed & embarrassed to be British , the reasons given by the US are blindingly pathetic - weapons of mass destruction etc etc

I cringe at the enthusiasm of the reporters on the 10 o'clock news as they explain the allied advances & all the clever computer images of Iraqi positions being bombed

the US want to get rid of rouge nations with weapons of mass destruction & unstable Governments then Korea must be next

Now that will be war - a proper war - I wonder if those reporters would be quite as enthusiastic with their little computer images of the Allied forces taking a hammering off the Koreans.

Saddam's bad news - Big Deal - so are loads of other countries

Saddams bad news but he's sitting on millions of tons of black Gold - BIG BIG Deal - this is a war we can win - like taking candy off a baby

Ashamed & embarrassed.
