Does anyone think there are sufficient reasons for war on N. korea after this raid on Iraq is over?
Or do you think Bush, blair, Spain, canada and sensible people will avoid it because it is less of a pushover than Iraq?

i think that china and others should deal with it.
I do not see why the US should be asked to deal with them.

There is absolutely no reason to go to war with North Korea. Technically we are still at war with them, but without being attacked first I can't imagine why we would stike a nation armed with nuclear weapons pre-emptively. Iraq, you must understand, broke a cease-fire agreement set down at the end of the Gulf War that called on them to disarm. Since they won't do it we are going to force them too do it. Twelve years of diplomacy and international pressure failed to work.

The situation in North Korea is a completely different set of circumstances.

I call this selective listening. Anything that catches your ear in the middle of something important is all you remember and make it fit your scewed beliefs. Very much like fundamentalism views. When you close your mind and cannot see both sides, you are a fundamentalist.

Remember the axis of evil? With us or against us? This is about human rights and terrorism world wide. If you are a threat to the U.S., you are in danger.
If you are for terrorism and support countries that support it you are in danger.

Quit bringing up the money and oil propoganda and get back to reality.

There are sufficient reasons to confront N. Korea. War is the last option - and certainly not attractive. I'm sure the US would support any broad range of political and economic pressures to keep N. Korea reasonable in line.

Let the regional leaders take the forefront but we will sure back them up.

Don't try to draw an exact parallel between Iraq and N. Korea in terms of how we should approach the issue. N. Korea has not invaded its neighbors in over 50 years. The regime's have changed many times (i.e. its not the same guy). They haven't gassed their own people (although they haven't fed them either). There hasn't been a unanimous UNSC resolution giving them an ultimatum to "do something or else", etc. They haven't violated the terms of the cease fire, etc.

They definitely need to be confronted in a concerted and unified way but that in no way means war exclusively.

(to charles and about what he wrote)
I heard from my older bro that N. Korea has broken a few sanctions or something, what might those have been, if any?

you don't know what they did as the country is closed .....
Do you know Noth Korean people ? you should talk with to see what the "changing regime" as you said did .....

The regime's have changed many times ????? regimes NOT, the guys, yes .....

So you have somebody which publicaly declare the war to U.S., has the same speech about U.S. as Saddam , he has WMD that can reach U.S., he has nuclear weapons, he is a threat to the Peace, he has plutonium to sell ..... (to who ? terrorists ....) and

ALL the gov is asking is to bring that to U.N. .......

and China said: you have to treat the North Korea problem as you treat the Iraq problem ......

Nowar,

What is your point?

Do you WANT a nuclear war? Would that make you feel better?

The US probably isn't invading NK because it could lead to the deaths of millions of people. Do you want that? Or do you support NK? Those people are dying by the tens of thousands of starvation. When I lived in Russia the news showed that people were trying to make soup from grass. Itys a horrbile regime and should be confronted. Lot's of different strategies have been tried. I think Clinton was giving the food and oil aid in exchange for NK stopping its nuke program. Well that strategy didn't work.

Do YOU have any ideas? Or are just going to criticize and heckle?

China doesn't want to deal with the issue from what I have read on SK news and other news.
the US doesn't sit next to NK - china is needs to get the ball rolling and stopped hiding in the shadows.

"Very much like fundamentalism views. When you close your mind and cannot see both sides, you are a fundamentalist."

YOU'VE DESCRIBED GEORGE W. BUSH PERFECTLY! Along with Isreal, Wolfowitz and Pearle and the Southern Baptist Convention, we have the Western version of Al Queda... Jihad in God's name Part II. Save Jerusalem for the Judeo-Christians. It's a crusade to drive off the barbarians in Jesus name - AMEN! And to make money on oil of course.

Deal with reality man! I guess you can't...to you GWB is a good 'ole no nonsense God fearin' Texas boy, who represents all that's good with America! At least read about the Wolfowitz/Pearle connection, their writings and ideas are out there. Don't be so Patriotically blinded as to not connect the dots...our future is on the line.

George Bush is doing what I have wanted for years.
How many times do I have to tell your BLIND MIND that I support this NOT BECAUSE OF BUSH -- but because I haved wished for this since 1990.
this. You need to understand that and stop telling ME why I support this war. You don't know me - how would you know?

My friends are there - I will support them to the end and beyond.

I support the troops and hope they kick butt, now that their there. My regret is the many (I believe it's at 17 already) who will die for American and Israeli middle east hegemony, thinking that they where fighting to stop terrorism.

I think it's 12 + 2 + 1 - so it's around that number 15 - 19. Can't be too sure.

Saddam's regime has never gassed their own people [like W. always mentions].. they've gassed kurds, so correct would be: They've gassed their citizens (Iraq is multi-ethnic country)
so long

i admit i am no expert on middle east but i believe i am informed better than most people are... you must understand that i support destroying Huseins regime.. but in this way.. under american flag..

i just wanted to say how i hate americas government speeches.. they use the same words all the time and try to brainwash us (weapons of mass destruction, gassed his own people etc.)

Sean Kelly.. well you must understand that here in europe we understand what is nation in a little different way.. you are not a nation for us.. let me explain.. you proclaim everybody who live in your country for american.. you link your nation with your teritory and citizenship.. if chinese comes to USA he becomes asian american.. if i would get american passport i would be euro american or something? In europe [nationality is linked with the language (and religion in some cases) that you speak... there are slovenians in austria, italy and they are not italians with adjective slovenian...
as you probably know borders of countries were drawn by powers like UK, France, Russia, USA and know we're blaming them for killing each other.. thats hypocrisy

so saddams gassing its not the same as NYers gassing NJ..

no hard feelings
