Does anyone else think that the HP films are a bit dissapointing? I didn't like the films much, I think they are too bland and flat. It lacks the kind of magic quality which the books have and watching the films I get the feeling that not enough effort was put in. No doupt that their are some fun bits in the film like the flying car and the quiddich games which are entertaining and young kids will enjoy. children will enjoy the film and not notice it's flaws which is fine because the films are aimed for young children but in the later books which will be developed into films, they'll have to make a few changes.
A lot of the acting is too wooden and some of the kids sound like their in a Primary School play. Harry is a bit too geeky for my liking, sometimes it's like watching a plank of wood. I thought Daniel Radcliff was much more natural and convincing in the first film then he was in the second and I didn't think he was even that good in the first but I didn't like him at all in the second.
I think Ron's pretty good though. His "bloody hell" makes me laugh but I'm not sure if I like him or not when he's acting scared and puts on that high voice and funny face.
I'm not sure about Hermione, she plays a swotty little madam well but you sort of *know* she's acting, in other words I don't think she's natural enough.
Malfoy is brilliant though! he does his part so well, I actually think that he's the best actor in it. for Tom Felton, he is so entertaining don't you think.
Anyway i didn't like the films much! Well too weak and flat for my liking, hope the next one is better!

Tom Felton was the best one of the kids. I personally hated the girl who plays Hermione. Daniel Radcliff I loved. He was understated, said a lot with his eyes or a nod. The movies are difficult because most of us have read those wonderful books. How can a movie compare to the story we have been playing inside our minds.

The second movie I did not enjoy as much. It lacked the charm of the first one.

I prefer the second movie over the first. I think the reason people dislike the COS film is because the book was one of the weaker in the series. The director can't be blamed for the story and if you focus on what the filmmakers alone did then you might find that it was executed with more confidence than the first. The special effects were much improved and the child actors had matured enough to give credible performances. Film 3 will be the best so far though, I guarantee.
