What foods do you love and can not wait to eat at the holidays?

For me, it is tamales. We make pork tamales every Christmas. It just does not smell like Christmas without those tamales. It takes all day to make them. My sister and mom help. It is just a fun day.

And you KNOW that you have a batch with my name on 'em already, right?

Well, I don't really have any favorite, per say... but I love sweet potatoes, and I love cranberry sauce too!!!

I love that cranberry gel. Not many people like it, but I do.
I also love my pecan pie.

I don't celebrate Christmas, but I do like the smell of it. I like the combination of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and allspice. I actually put it in a mini canvas bag for my desk.

As for food... No favorite because foods traditionally reserved for the holidays are in my regular day life. Why wait for Christmas? lol. If I want a pumpkin pie and it's July... guess what?

I am not much of a gravy person, but on Thanksgiving I have it. My sister makes a fantastic gravy.

Mine is pumpkin pie! Yum!!! It's good. My mom won't get it unless it's Thanksgiving or Christmas though. But, I guess that savors the moment!!:-)

My mom make a peppermint pie. Oh man... it's all home made.
She crushes up Oreo cookies, and makes a crust for the pie.
She takes peppermint sticks and crushes them in to small pieces and then places them in a sauce pan with marshmellows and melts that as the base of the pie. Then, cool whip is added in as well.

It's really good... but I can't eat more than a couple bites.

Chocolate covered macadamia nuts. mmmmmm
Our macadamia nut tree drops the nuts in October/November, so they are ready just in time to makes some at Christmas.

Glazed ham at Christmas. We use brown sugar and mustard. Sounds gross, but it makes the best glaze. YUM!
