Book Six - Possible Titles |
| Posted by: Lawless | | There are many possible book titles that have been released either as possible official titles or simply as rumours. There are also quite solid meanings behind each title
Harry Potter and the Green Flame Torch
There is legend of a torch that emits green flames capable of completly destroying any evil natured beings. This could be used against Voldemort if only Harry and friends would be able to find it.
This links in with connections with King Arthur and the "Holy Grail" which also had a connection with the Goblet of Fire in book 4. This could also be the possible mass weapon to destroy Voldemort although that isn't foolproof because it would have no use for Voldemort though book 5 suggests it would.
Harry Potter and the Alchemist's Cell
This obviously links in with Book 1 and Nicholas Flamel who was an alchemist that founded the Philosopher's Stone. The cell part of the title doesn't hold any clue apart from, it could be a special room or complex that houses a secret weapon or entity (works along the same plot as above).
Harry Potter and the Pyramids of Furmat
The latest theory for book six is that Harry visits Egypt where many ancient legends and magical associated things would've happened both religious and mythical. Egypt is also one of the biggest homes of study for ancient runes (could be a weapon) and alchemy. Furmat doesn't seem to have any meaning in any areas I've searched but it could give more of an insight into this title.
Harry Potter and the Chariots of Light
This again goes into ancient legend. There were a number of categorised chariots including "Chariot of Hope" and "Chariot of Fire" but the Chariots of light are a much less common expression and there is very little information on them. This could be something important that is discovered in Harry Potter that could, again, link in with some sort of weapon or strength for the good forces, hence being linked with "light". | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Maja88 | | I don't think JKR would take any of these titles if they're already on the Internet, even if she's really come up with them herself and considered accepting them. But, I'd like if the title were HP and the Alchemist's Cell... I always wanted to know much more about Nicolas Flamel and his co-operation with D'dore. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | Okay... here's the rumor, and her response to the titles:
RUMOR
Book six is going to be called 'Harry Potter and the Green Flame Torch' or 'the Mountain of Fantasy' and book seven is going to be called 'Harry Potter and the Fortress of Shadows' or 'the Forest of Shadows'
JKR's RESPONSE
Not even close! Who makes these up?! And this green torch business seems to be cropping up everywhere. Do you really think getting rid of Voldemort would be that easy? | | Reply To this Message

The Daily Record has purportedly announced the title of the sixth Harry Potter book in their article about Rowling rejecting the Dr. Who offer. They claim that the book's title is Harry Potter and the Green Flame Torch. This title has been speculated by many fans for the past four-six months, along with Harry Potter and the Mudblood Revolt. The Daily Record is not the most reliable source, so count this as a rumor for now.

| Posted by: Lawless | | I got the word from JKR.... off of HER official website, and if she herself is saying that there is no way that will be the title, I'm going to believe her over a rumor. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | Yes, KJ's response is word for word what JK has said herself on her official site. Check the rumours section, very good reading. Anything else you read is just people trying to make Harry Potter news out of nothing | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: WeasleyIsMYKing | | I don't think anyone will really be able to guess the title. As said above all of the other titles have come from the content of the book. As long as we don't know what the book is about we can't really guess the title | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: clayfan101 | | ya... we'd have to know what the book was about. but everything is SUCH a well kept secret i dont see that happening | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Welcome to the forum FireFairy. That is a possibility. It is not like she is going to say "oh good you guessed right". | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Lawless | | It's also possible that she doesn't know the title yet. She could wait until she's nearly done, and decide which one would suit the book best. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | I will bet that she already knows the title to the last two books. She is so organized. | | Reply To this Message

NEW YORK -- No word yet on when the next Harry Potter book comes out, but at least there's a title: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. "Well, the door opened at last and I showed you the title of book 6 . . . the title I have been using in my head for ages and ages," author J. K. Rowling wrote on her website.
The British author's U.S. publisher confirmed the title yesterday. | | Reply To this Message
