If you were the director... |
| Posted by: Lawless | | So far we've only had the two movies, but I guess this could also include those beyond.
If you were in the director's chair for the HP movies, remakes this time, what would you change? Or, if you're doing one of the other books that has not yet been put into film, what would be the scene you would give the most weight? Or what steps would you take to ensure it captures the essesnce of that book?
I think if I were directing OoP, I would do my best to ensure that the audience really feels Harry's emotions. The scene in DoM and with the veil would be THE scene that would have everyone talking. Also, Harry's final scene with Luna b/c I feel it is a very touching moment in the novel.

The one I really want to be prominent is the scene where Dumbledore tells Harry about the prophesy, his regrets and the love he has for him. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | Oh yeah, I really want the prophesy scene to be "larger than life" with flashbacks of what happened all those years ago in the bar.
Also, I want to see the scenes where the twins cause all the havoc for Umbridge at Hogwarts.
In GoF, I just don't even know WHERE to begin. There is so much that I want to see from the book. I hope that the dragons look real. And, seeing the other two schools arriving by air and water. That will be cool. The world cup for quidditch match... I hope that they do that too, and it's just mind blowing. I want to see what it will look like when the kids use those binoculars and they can slow the plays down, etc... that will be cool.
Ohhhhhhhh, I just want to see it all. I don't ask for much, do I? | | Reply To this Message

I'd be careful not to overdo Harry's anger though, for fear of turning him into a 2-dimensional testosterone pump. I'd also build Harry's relationship with Sirius so as to make his death have more of an impact (not that it was done poorly in the book.) | | Reply To this Message
