| Posted by: sehorn | | Hi;
I'm Turkish, so i think i have the the best knowledge about the Turkish government's policy about the Iraq war. First of all they do not want a drop from the northern Iraq oil. If they did they would have accepted the 1 billion dollar worth oil reserve offer from Bush. The reason for the Turkish troops to enter Northern Iraq goes back to Gulf War. During the Gulf War approximately 500000 Northern Iraqis immigrated to Turkey illegaly. Of these 500000, 40000-50000 are believed to be terrorists(PKK: A terrorist org. operated in Turkey for the last 10 years killing around 30000 people) So the aim of the Turkish government is building a barrier in Northern Iraq so that no one will pass the border. The army and the government clearly stated that they are not there to invade but to protect Turkish land which they had failed in Gulf War. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: loft | | Right-Hand You write that some countries support the war. I will talk only about Greece because I dont live in the other countries,but I am almost sure for some of them of what are their feelings about the war. Ok to our point. If you come right now in Greece and say that Greeks support the war on Iraq you will be taken for a foul. I told also in one other person. Close your PC get out to meet real people and ask them what they really thing about the war. Dont just say what they say to you or see on CNN. As for debate about Greece I challenge you. Find a greek newspaper that says that Greeks like the war. (You can check them on internet just before you close it and GET OUT on the world). If I lose I will accept that what I was saying are ********. If you lose you will have to take Greece out of this list of shame and declare that you were bullshiting. I AM WAITNG FOR YOUR ANSWER... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Dreamzwalker | | Actually, that list is not made up of people on this forum. Bcc, msn, cnn, and other news agencies have it listed.
Whether or not someone posting the list changed any of the countries, I'm not sure of. I haven't viewed an offical list for about a week. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: sehorn | | Almost 95% of the Turkish people are against the war and see Bush as the most dangerous man on the earth.
