(This is the article about Clay's CD going to #1 that is posted @ billboard.com.)

Aiken 'Measures' Up At No. 1

Second season "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken owns the top position on The Billboard 200 this week with his debut album, "Measure of a Man." In its first week, the RCA set sold 613,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Among its tracks, "Measure" features a former No. 1 single in "This Is the Night," which spent two weeks atop Billboard's Hot 100 in June.

Aiken follows fellow "Idol" alumnus Kelly Clarkson, the first season winner, in reaching the top of The Billboard 200. But he's off to a better start, as her RCA debut album, "Thankful," bowed at No. 1 with a first-week sales total of 297,000.

Aiken's "This Is the Night," which was sold to retail backed with his cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water," has already sold 912,000 copies. Aiken can also be found on "American Idol: The Great Holiday Classics," which debuts this week at No. 72 on the album chart.

"Measure of a Man" has a lengthy lead over last week's chart topper, Ludacris' "Chicken & Beer."

All this and he was a 'Wild Card'. Which he never should have been. The viewing audience could see he was the person with the most talent out there!
Which brings me to this; they need to fix the way votes are tallied during the American Idol call-ins. I couldn't get through so many times!!!!!!!!! I text messaged every week but I couldn't call from the land-line; and I know a lot of other people who had the same problem.
How come we never heard any more about that issue with Rueben and the company that had him promoting there shirts during American Idol? The contestants were not supposed to profit from being on the show. I guess he got around it since the checks were made out to his brother.

Atleast you had a shot in the voting procedures. I on the other hand was in the wrong country at the time. Dang it all! And yes it was a big no-no with the big-wigs of Fox (you know the old men who sit around in conference rooms depicting what's "groovy" or not? Yeah, apparently they have the 4-1-1 on that kind of stuff.) And apparently all the Idol contestants did agree to not have any type of profiting while on the show. So Ruben was wrong in that tense. But then again, what do I know?

It's all in the upbringing. The example that your parents and environment are. Obviously the 'other' person doesn't have the FANTASTIC MOM that Clay has.

maybe he was just greedy and wanted the $$. It's kinda weird that they couldn't get paid for endorsing stuff, cuz i bet those 205 jerseys got really popular, so at least Ruben got money for it, he made them so popular........The company who makes WWJD braclets should give Clay some $$!!!! They're probably more popular now too!!!!

I really respect Prince Clay for wearing the 'WWJD' bracelet. He said that a student gave it to him and he promised to not take it off. He said it keeps him 'grounded'. He is a man of his words. I bet if they had given him money he would have given it all to his charity. In fact I am 100% sure. Since the student he spoke of has autism. He is what I call a REAL MAN; a man of his words, morals, ethics and empathy for others. (I think the 'real men' that are macho are really just 'red necks'- nothing between the ears and no substance.)

i read this this in a Teen People mag that Clay was in, and it said "Clay Aiken must REALLY like that WWJD bracelet, he wears it in every picture." It made me kinda mad. He's no trying to make a fashion statement!!!! GOD!! He just loves Jesus and wears it to keep him as a good person. I think every celebrity need one!

But, Clay is the one 'celebrity' that knows what it stands for and means it. As you said, it is not a fashion statement. Clay loves Jesus and gives 100 % to living his life the way God intended.

yeah. Clay really understands the meaning of WWJD but i don't thing the other celebrities who really NEED the help would get a deep meaning from it.

Some day they will need the Lord and , hopefully, someone will be there to show them the example; which is the way.
Know what I mean?)

yeah! when all the "real" celebrities (and by real i mean messed up) want help, God can help them. maybe they'll want to wear WWJD bracelets then as more of just a fashion statement.
