Britney Spears treated fans to the show of a lifetime Friday night - tearing her tight-fitting tank top off at three different clubs in less than three hours! But not everybody was basking in the glow of Britney's body, as the pop tart's security goons confiscated cameras and roughed-up photographers to keep pictures of the racy routine from coming to light before they air on MTV.
Photographers on the scene say both MTV security and Britney's personal detail manhandled paparazzi and fans at the unannounced events.
The pop tart was filming an MTV special titled "In the Zone and Out All Night" to promote the Nov. 15 release of her new album. At each of the three clubs, Britney pulled her red tank top over her head to reveal a skimpy pink lamé bra (sported as she dominated a backup dancer during her striptease). At one club, she was briefly blindfolded and put in a leather chair as backup dancers gyrated around her. One photographer called police after being put in a headlock by an MTV security guard. Security also grabbed a point-and-shoot from a female fan, who was later seen crying.
Information About Britney's Tour
Posted @ 6:15 p.m
MTV.com Reports that Britney Spears is gearing up for her upcoming tour.
In August, she began auditioning dancers, and they're planning to start rehearsals in February in Los Angeles for a trek that will launch in March. There's already been a switch in choreographers ? Jennifer Lopez's ex Cris Judd was first slated to shape Britney's dance moves, then Jamie King of "Dance Fever" stepped in.
But now, according to a source close to the pop princess, King is out and Kevin Tanchareon (who co-choreographed the "Me Against the Music" video) will be keeping Spears in step. There's no name for the tour just yet, and dates have yet to be announced.
If you're one of the 12 people who are excited for the new Britney Spears album (which will be released this week), then you might enjoy her song titled "Touch Of My Hand." It's about "self-stimulation" and she's hoping it helps to get her some more press.
Yet, she's still afraid to talk about s-e-x even though she sings this song. When MTV asked her about it, she giggled "this is a touchy subject," and refused to explain the song further. "When I have to explain it, I get really weird and bashful, but it's reality."
It could be a reality for her since her boyfriend walked out on her. Dancer Columbus Short went back to his pregnant wife.
IT'S the chart showdown of the year as Britney and Kylie go head to head.
The pair release their latest albums on the same day and already fellow celebrities are queuing up to take sides.
In the red (hot) corner, bringing up the rear, is pop pixie Kylie, who releases her new album Body Language on November 17.
That's the same day pop princess Britney, in the blue corner, releasesIn The Zone.
And the American is going all out to win over the Brits, with a string of appearances in the coming weeks.
Like Kylie, she'll be at the MTV Europe Awards in Edinburgh.
But she went one better than her Aussie rival by throwing a party for fellow stars at London's Rexcinema and bar at the weekend.
But was that enough to win theirsupport? Our poll shows the jury is out but Britney is ahead on points.
In Kylie's corner are Scots singer Darius (perhaps he blames Britney for his infamous Hit Me Baby One More Time Pop Idol audition disaster), singer Holly Valance and reformed It-girl Tara Palmer Tomkinson.
Britney has the support of pal Pink plus singer Ronan Keating, Busted's Charlie Simpson and chart-topper Blu Cantrell.
ALBUM REVIEW - In The Zone - 11/11/2003 - By Dan Leroy
Turns out, those folks who insisted there was a deeper meaning to That Kiss between Britney and Madonna were right. But you have to hear In The Zone to discover that the message was, "Play tonsil hockey with me, young lady, and I'll show you how to make a sophisticated turd of an album like my last one."
Well, Madge sure tries on the numbing dance drone "Me Against The Music," possibly the worst celebrity team-up since Mike Tyson and Robin Givens.
And Britney's forays into adult club culture with the likes of Moby ("Early Mornin'") and R. Kelly ("Outrageous") as her guides are also all 'tude and no tune--a deadly combination for a singer too weak to salvage a song on her own.
But while the kiddie trance and dirrty hip-hop are as blatant a bid for credibility as young Brit's moans upon discovering the joys of all-night raving and her own hand, the pop princess of old keeps peeking through the steamed-up windows, and ultimately saves the disc from disaster.
The giddy "Toxic" and "Brave New Girl" have the hooks and innocence to equal any of Britney's past bubblegum classics. They're also better than anything Madonna's done in ages. Remember that, Brit, next time she wants a smooch.
Singer Britney Spears is following up her steamy kiss with Madonna at the MTV music awards with blatantly sexual lyrics that further cement her image transformation from an innocent teen virgin to a sexually active temptress.
According to New York Post parents should “get out a cold bucket of water and lock up the children” if they want to listen to In The Zone, the new album from the 21 year old singer.
In the tune Showdown, she coos “I’m not a tease, would you undo my zipper please?” Another song, Early Mornin’ opens with the inspiring line “I’m shaking my arse in the street”.
The paper described Early Mornin’ as “a sexy, growling one-night-stand regret song that should have been titled Early Moaning”.
Pop diva Britney Spears lambasted video director Joseph Kahn on the set of the video for her new single, "Toxic" -- after he made her kiss a fat, middle-aged man.
The beauty was horrified when she discovered that Kahn had an unconventional love interest for her.
And according to Kahn, the blonde beauty wasted no time in telling him how unhappy she was that there were no bona fide hunks on the set.
Kahn laughs, "Britney loves kissing pretty guys but I eventually chose the fat one in the video. She was not happy."
Britney Spears and three other defendants are being sued for $10 million by a company claiming her album title has infringed its trademark slogan, "In the Zone."
Lite Breeze Inc. -- a San Diego, Calif., firm specializing in athletic clothing and sporting team uniforms throughout America under its brand name In the Zone -- has filed the case against Spears, Clear Channel Entertainment Television Holdings Inc., Signatures Network Inc. and Zomb Recording Corporation at the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
They claim Spears' album In the Zone has degraded their slogan, which is clean and "wholesome."
The lawsuit was originally filed in February but the case was put on hold because the singer did not accept service of the legal papers until May.
Rodd Garner, President of Lite Breeze, says, "We have spent over 12 years building name recognition and brand loyalty with the In the Zone and the Zone trademark.
"In the Zone is as wholesome and all-American as hotdogs and apple pie. We are associated with sporting and musical events throughout the country.
"By releasing her CD entitled In The Zone and its promotional tour, now entitled the Oynx Hotel Tour, Ms. Spears has taken Lite Breeze's brand and equated it with what Rolling Stone magazine has stated 'offers strip-club, 1-900 sex, accommodating and hollow.'"
See, this is why I don't think you should be allowed to trademark phrases. It creates too muich hassle. How was Britney to know that they had been working on ten years to make a wholesome image out of "in the zone" that slogan could be used as being sports related, night club related, drug related, anything related. In this case it refers to dancing.
Although I guess that Britney could've checked first to see if it was registered. But do you have to check in every country you want to release the album and what if it's registereds to a Company who's been going out of business or something? See it just seems like a lot of trouble over a few words.
