Clay's CD is awesome but...

I think he's soooo much better as a live performer. I watched him on Leno and Good Morning America, and he's just out of this world. Don't get me wrong, his CD is awesome- but his live performances are just... Wow. Kind of a nice change from the performers who sound great on their CD, but you see them in person and they can't carry a tune.

i know!! I've thought this for the longest time! i've kinda forgotten about it! clay is WWAAAYYY better live! a lot of singers are made up in the studio and suck live, but clay's the opposite. it's like the studio tames him. i love it when he just screams and bends over and gets all into the songs, and in the studio, he's not really like that.

That's why I think that Clay would be great on Broadway. (I know, a lot of you disagree, but, HELLO! It takes WAY more talent to star in a musical on Broadway than it takes to make a ton of records.) I agree that the studio tames him because the song has to sung the way the producer thinks, and it becomes the producer's "creation". Which is why a lot of us want Clay to start penning his own work so he can have some credit instead of being their wind-up toy or juke box. By Clay being on Broadway you get to feel the passion and tension and other emotions excurted through a song....LIVE. I think he would be wonderful. But again, that's just my opinion and I know the rest of the world thinks of that Simon comment as a stab through the heart, but really it wasn't. It was more of a compliment than anything.

somehow being "too broadway" is an insult (YM magazine comment) but its GREAT that clay has such a strong voice! it is so powerful and clear and he can hit ANY note perfectly!

come on now ladies. the man has the voice of an angel, and I could listen to it for hours. but in person, he makes each and every one of us feel like we are 13 and he is singing just to us. during the song, when he's singing he has such great emotional presence on stage, and then when he's done, he always kind of grins that "aw shucks" smile and gives every woman in the audience butterfles.

OMG! Clay's CD is selling so well!!! I went to this one site, www.hitsdailydouble.com and Clay's CD is #1 for best selling CD's!!! It's sold 263,196 (must not include pre-orders) and the 2nd place (Luadcris) has sold 98,275! OMG! Clay's almost in the lead by 165,000!!! He's GREAT!!! I can't believe this!!! Well, yeah I can! He desereves to be #1 by far, but i just am so happy for him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
