Naming Names?

I recently read that some people are outraged that the "alleged victim's" name was released. This got me to thinking? Why then is it OK to release Kobe's(or any othe INNOCENT until proven guilty defendant's) name before he's (or she) found guilty of anything? You may be tarnishing the name of an INNOCENT person for life? The victim is still "alleged" maybe nothing ever happenned, maybe Kobe's innocent, why isn't it wrong to release his name before he's PROVEN guilty?
