Week 6 - Kansas City @ Green Bay |
| Posted by: Lawless | | Will kicking away from Dante Hall be enough for the Green Bay Packers to beat the Kansas City Chiefs?
I don't think so.
The strategy makes sense, of course, because putting the ball in Hall's hands has become a virtual guaranteed touchdown for the Chiefs. But here are other points to consider: The Packers' Josh Bidwell is not the most consistent punter when it comes to distance, and it is likely that in kicking the ball out of bounds, he will provide the Chiefs with great field position. The same will be true when the Packers squib kickoffs in an attempt to eliminate Hall as a return threat.
I see Kansas City making the most of each short-field opportunity, as well as its other possessions. Although Priest Holmes hasn't rushed for 100 yards or reached the end zone the past two weeks, he should have a strong game against a defensive front that must blitz to generate pressure and, as a result, will often have defenders caught out of position to stop the run. Holmes also should have the room to make significant gains on screen passes.
Kansas City's defense will have its hands full with Brett Favre and Ahman Green, but the offense and the fact the Chiefs likely will have an edge in field position should be enough to push them to 6-0. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | Ya know... you can't win 'em all. At least your team is 3-3. My Chargers are 0-5. Now, THAT is pathetic.
The game was pretty good yesterday.... and at least you didn't lose like the Bills. OUCH.... what a horrific loss the took. Definately not their day.
Somedays you win, somedays you win big.
Somedays you lose, somedays you lose big.
But... you NEVER stop trying.
Green Bay will be back... don't stop believing in the power of the cheese, Larke. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sayzak | | lol... Yeah... the Packers are looking a LOT like the Vikings of last year. Over half of the games were decided by less then a touchdown. The Vikings either lost the lead or couldn't make the comeback.
The packers need a couple of new energetic people to the O-line. That would probably help Favre choose better passes! He's had 2 bad interceptions in the last 3 weeks that really sent the game away... (No disrespect to favre, it's the o-line that needs revamping)... Note to packers: "Get stronger O-line" | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sayzak | | By the way... I hope you don't think the Vikings are going to take this rivalry lightly when/if they meet with a record of: Vikings - Undefieted | Packers - Struggling to breach .500 hehehe | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sayzak | | Well, the Vikings have had superbowl tallent at least.... 6 years since the NFC and AFC have been competing... Yet they've never won. They've been there 4 times, long time ago... so it's not like the Vikings haven't CHOKED a few times... like a few years ago VS the Falcons in the championship game.. grrrrrrr. If favre catches the Vikings sleeping call it a game. Well... it MIGHT end up being a high-scoring game... that would be interesting... | | Reply To this Message
