That quote is the big one from DR. I think part of the reason is because he wants to get out of playing Harry for all seven movies. Crazy boy. He is not a big HP fan, so he can't really get the whole thing.
Actually, he's said that he's not going to make a commitment past the 5th movie. He isn't sure of anything at this point, other than the fact that he will play Harry Potter in "The Order of the Phoenix"

He would be a fool if he didn't go for it and do the whole series. He is type cast anyway, so he might as well get rich. There have been other articles where he just doesn't know if he wants to do all 7, but he has said that he is not a huge fan but still a fan of the series. It would be creepy if he were a huge fan huh?
I don't understand these young actors and actresses these days who are on a TV series or in a movie series and won't do sequels or another series becuase they don't want to be "type-cast". What's wrong with type-cast? You'll always have work, granted it would be the same kind of work all the time, but what do they think, that working at McDonalds would be less repeptitive? I'd rather always have on-going work as only a nerd or only as a ditzy blonde or whatever in movies/ TV than be on the dole.
I'm with you, Emma.... I've never understood it either. I crack up when someone says that they are just tired of playing a soap opera character, and that they need to get out of it. Now, wanting to try new things, I do understand.. but, I wouldn't burn the bridge behind me. They have it so much better than the average person making like, ummmmmmmmmm, $40/50 - $100 per day.... but hey, it's their choice. I wouldn't give it up.
