So please, someone tell me why, all of a sudden, Hollywood is like high school all over again.
Remember the days when someone would yell FIIIIGGHHTTT!
or "ohhh my gawwdd, tiffany and chad are breaking up in the quad, LET'S GO SEE"
who cares?
Why do I care if Lindsay Lohan had a dance off with Wilmer? Or that Paris Hilton is a skank, that's not news by the way. Or that Ashley olsen is OKAY with paris being with her new greek lameo. I don't care, do you?
Someone explain to me, why we need to know all this gossip that isn't important. Has it always been like this? Did we know that Barbara Sinatra was okay with Frankie pimpin out with other girls? ...
what happened to Classic, er, Classy Hollywood?

Life is not how many breaths you take, but how many moments take your breath away.
People have always wanted to know more and more about celebrities. It's like a drug, they just need more. As the information age grew, the media has been able to facilitate that need more and more, and they keep upping the bar, taking it to the next level.
I'm sure all this petty BS went on back in the day, it just wasn't on a dozen magazines in your checkout isle is all.
Have you also noticed that the people who spend a little too much time watching television and gossip shows have adopted a tiny bit of a dramatic personality?
I don't know if we really WANT to know though, do we? I think its just forced in front of us. Don't get me wrong, I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly, but to me, that's not a gossip magazine, that tells me what movies are in production, what is in pre production, that tells me what this director was thinking while filming this movie, and yeah, there's some gossip but that's not why i BUY IT.
How many times do I have to hear about Brad and Angelina? Why do I care what they ordered at IHOP?
Look at what's happening with the uncontrollable paparazzi - running their cars into people.
I agree these people have made the choice to be in the public eye, but should we really know ALL their personal things? Does knowing the fact that Angelina likes chocolate chips spankcakes really make me run to see her new movie?
NO.

OH.... MYYY... GOOOSSSSHHHH...
dra-MATTTTIC? Whoooommmm are you speaking of? hahaha i watch a lot of tv.. but me? dramatic? what? neverrrr!!!! pffft, yeah right.
I don't think it's tv that makes us dramatic, i think you have to have that in your personality as it is. When i do it, i don't call it being dramatic, i call it EMPHASIS.

I think that we've always wanted the goss on our celeb obsessions, but back in the 50's & 60's all the big stars were contracted to a certain company and these companies did whatever they could to protect the stars from paparazzi and fans.
Now that stars don't have the big networks looking out for them it's a free for all.

Kevin: Remember that one time when I ate those napkins?
Me: (laughing) Yeah.
Kevin: That was funny. Do you remember what made me do it?
Me: I'm pretty sure you just said, "Hey, watch me eat these napkins".
Kevin: (laughing) Yeah, that sounds about right.
